  • Eflite t 28 1.2m retracts

Can anyone tell me how to remove the front landing gear from this retract,it's bent and I want to replace it, thanks

Once you remove the retract assembly from the nose look on the side of the retract casing as you will see 2 holes, one on each side and down in there will be a set screw. Usually 1.5mm - 2.00mm maybe one size up but it will be metric. Simply loosen the 2 set screws and the strut should come out then. Take a look at the photo on this page and you can see the silver colored hole in the side of the retract, that is where the set screw is. http://www.motionrc.com/e-flite-t-28...0-degree-nose/ Be careful not to strip it out, if necessary use the tip of a soldering iron to loosen any threadlock they may have used. If you have any problems with this simply call us @ 224-633-9090 and ask for me.

No set screws in those holes, looks like it has a c clip on the end of the shaft that holds it on....it's in a small gap, not very accessible, ill call you Monday, thanks Wayne

My Eflite 1.2m T-28 had its nosegear fail to extend in flight over the weekend. I had about
twenty flights on the model flying off very short grass. Fortunately it was pretty breezy
and I was able to bring her in on just the main gear and full flaps at just a crawl. Didn't
          even break the prop !
I already received a replacement nose retract that I ordered Sunday night. Going to go
ahead and install it just in case. I hope the failure was just a fluke but I'm not taking
any chances denting up my baby. I love that model !

I have had the same problem with mine a few times, but usually I can cycle it once and it comes down all the way. The problem I'm having now is that it's a little loose so it hangs up and doesn't retract all the way. I'm having to knife edge to the left to get it to want to tuck properly.

I just had the same thing happen to mine after only six flights, luckily it happened while it was not in the air. I always retract the gear when transporting it, so when I went to put them down to set in on the floor the nose did not come down. I tried a few times and nothing. I checked the servo wires, unplugged then and then plugged them in again, and still nothing. Then I flipped it over to see if it was getting caught on something or if it was even moving at all, and then all the sudden it started working again. I cycled them 10 times and they worked every time, which is good, but now I am afraid to fly it. You guys have any idea what is causing this? I am going to call Horizon tomorrow and see what they say.

After looking closely watching the nose retract get stuck, it looks like part of the retract is getting caught on the nose steering servo. I watched it happen several times and then I wiggled it and it would not stick anymore. Perhaps it got bent back on a landing slightly and not it retracts further into the space catching the servo. Any other ideas? I can see any bend visibly, but that is all I can think of.

I lubricated all of the moving components with Triflow Teflon lubricant (lightly). No issues since. I have a replacement nose gear on the shelf if I need it ;)

Anyone think the struts from the FMS T 28 Trojan would fit on the E-Flite Trojan? The retracts look like the they are the same on both, but the struts on the FMS have shocks in them. I would love to have those on the E-Flite. Another note, I upgraded the esc and flew it on e 4s today, its crazy fast and unlimited vertical!

Has anyone figured out if there is a retract with struts for the nose gear or all of the gear?

What about the nose wheel from the Apprentice S 15e?

Would it be possible to use this combo.

Can anyone give me any insight on why my E flight Viper knows retracts bind up. Several weeks ago I had a hard landing on some grass. The nose wheel caught a clump of grass and flipped a plane after that nothing seemed to work right. So I bought a new retract installed it and still have the same problem. The white plastic slider that attaches to the nose steering servo doesn't slide up-and-down when the retract closes and opens. There are several creases on the side of the nose as if the fuselage was bent but when you look down the fuselage it does not seem to be bent.
The white plastic slider rubs on the retract mount in the nose and the steel rod rubs against the hook on the side of the fuselage. Clearly something is out of alignment but I can't figure it out. Help
