I flew it this morning after I dropped my son off. Put it in intermediate mode and it just wanted to stay nose up at half throttle. I thought I had the cg right, but maybe not. There wasn't any wind and the battery was all the way up front.

Go back and check all of your throws on the plane. It's sounds like you might have have a positive up elevator. Make sure that you have centers your servos with your radio with the sticks centered and the trim tabs at center. Then adjust the clevises so that the elevator is parallel to the horizontal tail wing. This will give you a good starting point and should allow you to trim with the trim tabs. After you land you can mechanically adjust the elevator to compensate for the trim tab adjustment. Do this with all of your control surfaces. Make sure that when you first start that you center your servos though. If there not it's a waste of time. It's pretty easy Ron you can do it. Center with tx in center. Align with wing. Trim with tabs. Land. Mechanically adjust.

Oh I forgot. After you make a trim adjustment with your tx trim tabs don't touch the sticks for a couple of seconds so make sure you have altitude and room to do so. This is so the safe can learn the change.

Yep, that was it. The first time I took it up and swapped it wanted to nose-dive. So I brought it down for a sec then after that it worked great. Maybe a slight climb, but that could've been the breeze. I did my first loops and rolls today as well. But during the rolls, when I put full throttle and started a quick dive to gain more momentum, the motor sounded like a goose honking when diving to complete it. I haven't had the chance to check the gears or anything because I did a quick flight before class. Does it sound like the gears or possibly just the air flow turbulence from the breeze. It only made the sound on sharp dives, level flight and everything else was fine.

That sounds lake an improperly balanced prop. Did you balance the prop before flying the plane. The excessive vibration at higher throttles will make a noise like that. Also grab the prop and check for side to side movement or up and down movement. A good strike on the prop can cause a motor board break or foam fracture where the board is secured. A good way to check the prop balance if you don't find any lossenes is to hold the plane were you will not come in contact with the prop and bring the prop to fulll throttle. There should be little vibration. Also check and see that the prop shaft is not bent. It will be very noticeable when viewing the prop tracking from the side. If the prop has had a misshapen with striking the ground be very careful bring it to full throttle because if it has any fractures you don't see it could fly apart and injure you. Start by looking to the side of the prop and turning it by hand first and a good inspection of the prop before running it up with the throttle. I hope this helps some.

I didn't balance the prop because the book never mentions it, lol. But I will look up how to do it because I didn't see anything abnormal and couldn't duplicate the sound. No vibration felt or seen holding it near the gear and on the fuselage under the wings. Even tilted and banked it at full throttle but everything seemed fine. I got a spare prop when I ordered this, so i may throw that on there and see if it happens next time i fly.....most likely tomorrow morning.

Again something else. Once you know you don't have a problem that is mechanical or balance get the plane in the air and at least 3 mistakes high and enough room that you don't have to be constantly making corrections. Head the plane into the wind and set your trims with your trim tabs until it will fly straight and level almost hands off. Just remember that with the safe receiver you can't touch it for a couple of secounds after a trim tab correction and you need to be half throttle or a little better. Don't be afraid to make these adjustments. Believe me you will really love that plane once trimmed. Till then there's going to be a pucker 😬 factor that's not that fun. Good is good but great is greater. Good luck.😁

I felt good with the loops. Beginning and ending at roughly the same point. The rolls on the other hand, I need to work on. Maybe I was expecting it to roll quicker or i just didn't have the stick over enough.

Just get good and comfortable with it and then later you can start making throw adjustments to make things a little more to your liking. Just remember there's no gears and it is direct drive to the motor itself so always be mindful of anything that might throw that out of balance. Like a tire. For balancing your props you will need to purchase a prop balancer. I strongly recommend the dudro model. I'm sorry I don't ha e the link right now because I'm working off a phone. I do believe that MOTION has it listed thought.

No. Just checked it out. However the carry the Top Flight magnetic prop balancer that is also very accurate. The pt# TOPQ5700 for 19.99. Very reasonable compared to the Dubro at 28.95. Hope this helps.

Hey Dewey!

The Top Flight balancer is very flimsy. You are better off with the Dubro balancer, it's much better construction. Being Motion doesn't carry it you can find it at Tower Hobby for 22.95. A much better investment for a few dollars more.

I cut the plane open and checked inside, nothing noticeable. But I went ahead and swapped out the prop and ran it full throttle for a few minutes and felt like the old one. We shall see tomorrow though.

I love my Dubro balancer. An essential tool for any of my birds. Can handle fairly large props as well.

I love them too, you can actually balance a bigger prop by letting it hang over the edge of a table, heck, I can even balance my four bladed props, gotta like that!
