Constructed from balsa, plywood, fiberglass, and using carbon fiber and aluminum, this Extra 300 sports a large 2260mm (89") wingspan and the versatility to mount either a gas engine or an electric powerplant.     Black Horse ARF models are constructed out of balsa wood and plywood. These are not foam models. The assembly of balsa wood ARF aircraft requires basic model building skills including the installation of servos, ESC, and motor (or gas engine).

    Nice to see Motion and Black Horse getting into the giant scale 3D market but recommending that particular servo for an airplane like this is asking for trouble. 133oz-in is not even close to sufficient for this size and type of airplane. There will be severe blowback with any large deflections but what people don’t think about is that even if sport flying, the risk of flutter with these large surfaces and low torque servos is very high. The generally accepted torque requirement for planes this size is approximately 400 oz-in. You can get by with less but you will likely have some blowback in any high energy maneuvers. YMMV but I would absolutely not use that servo in a plane like this.
