Hello, I just bought the extra 300 bnf and this thing was plugged into the bind port of the receiver. There is no mention of it in the manual, that I could find, and can't find anything online about it. Does anyone here know what this plug is for?

It's a capacitor. It's designed to absorb/buffer small voltage drops or spikes. They help keep the receiver voltage more steady.
They are generally installed on aircraft with things like heavy use servos, retracts, or numerous servos that may pull higher amp loads. -
Ahhh thank you, so I should probably leave it in then. It's strange there is no mention of it in the manual.

Ah, so it was there in a new plane. That's actually good.
I've also seen that Horizon Hobby has been putting RF chokes on some of the leads in some of the new bnf planes. That's also a good thing. They help reduce RF noise that might affect the receiver signal.
They can get in the way sometimes though.
