Old School Kit build Top Flite P-47

The kit was built in 2005 from a Topflite P-47 gold kit.

Looks good. I like the "old school" models as well. I finished a Topflite Red box P-47 (bubble top) this past winter. I went the electric power route on it though. I like your razorback though.

The real old Red top box :) Yes built all them before, lots of wood, nothing pre shaped. Yep Love it!

Very nice guys, I like the long nose FW190, its different. And the Razorback P47, wish FMS or Flightline would come with one. They have real examples of both these aircraft and the Seattle Museum of Flight at Boeing Field, really something to see.

With all the P-38 buzz around here, here's one just a little bigger than 1600mm.

JFandL, those are some wonderful looking models! All three are excellent and you must be very proud. What powers your P-38?

It's a Ziroli P-38 114" wing span. Power is two, Zenoah G-45 spring starts, Robart Retracts. This one is not finished and was started by someone else who gave up on her. So I can't take any credit on this one yet, ROFL. I have done a lot of rebuilding on it and she's more than likely getting glassed.

Glassing is a good idea, specifically the wing area inboard of the booms. Even on a somewhat light footed landing a crack appeared which has since been reinforced with glass.

Yes very true, I've gave a lot of time thinking of the upgraded boom pods.. I've already added some hard wood and glass in the saddle areas. Very nice P38 you got there!!!
