That's a cool idea. I just watched a video of a couple of guys who own a Spit IX and they were talking about the morse code and pointed out the code key in the cockpit. Man, you learn something new every day even when you're an old fart like me!

All the British WW2 warplanes, including fighters, had a signalling lamp for when radio silence was needed. Here's one of my boards installed in a Lancaster.

I haven't been able to discover whether USAAF planes had them too.

I just watched that one to, grossman.. luv u tube,,, new info on old aircrft all the time... i to did not no about the morse code.. the biggest surprise 4 me is the sze diff between spit and f4u.. spit the cockpit just there... f4u its way way up there.. went to airshow here ,,, about 18 months ago.. (to see the f4u) but there was a spit as well,, and an aussie wirraway.. anyway the spit and corsair were parked about50 meters from each other.. both great looking in real life.. what got me was the sze diff,,, like a truck to a compact car, enough jibberish happy flying... will get a fline spit soon b4 they r disscontinued
