The P-38 Lightning is my all time favorite WWII warbird. I haven't flown the Flightline P-38 enough yet to decide if it's going to be a favorite RC plane yet. I'm not saying it's not going to be, I just don't have enough flights under my belt to decide...

That said, I have one plane in the hangar that will get replaced, immediately, if I ever destroy it. It's not a true warbird, but it did see service during the war. The Roc Hobby Beechcraft 1030mm Staggerwing. Six channel, and lights. How can you not love a biplane with retracts & flaps?!? It's docile, but will move out just fine when you pin the throttle. It'll handle short grass, the fit and finish are way above par, and the scale details are just amazing. It's also tough as nails, I've yet to break anything other than a prop, and it still looks fantastic after more than 100 flights. It also didn't see a price increase with all that's going on. I love this plane, flew it today, and would replace in in an instant!
I hate that motorcycle they make me ride. I'm here to tell you, there ain't nothing in the world I hate more than that elephant under my ass.

I think the SEA FURY (and spitfire, when released) are going to be HUGE HITS for 2016 and beyond ..aside from the flap servo issue (maybe a few isolated incidents ) reported by OV10 And one person in the review section ..it is just gorgeous ..I will be adding new wheels..but sticking with the stock power system for a while .
Enjoy flying my warbirds in a scale manner at speeds closer to scale ...awesome .

This things rocks now. The plane is a little heavy, which is the reason for the upgrade. For the second one I just replaced with the motor (Rimfire) and a 85A Gecko ESC. I kept the 4-blade prop. Both fly very well although I like the 2-blade power system more.
That seems like a big motor for a 1200mm plane. What battery are you running? 5S or 6S?

Is the Sea Fury really that heavy and underpowered? It's listed at 1550 grams.

The video link posted in one of the reviews next to the SEA fURY , if you go to warbirds then click on the SEA fURY ...(colt and paste ) shows the plane and it fly's very well with the stock setup and recommended battery .. Landing looked very controlled and a beautiful settle in. A little bounce but a non issue .
More power , more power , being in all facets of R/C aside from jets ..the first question , many times when a customer is looking at a plane , boat , car , truck etc is HOW FAST IS IT?
Can I make it go faster ? 8o plus mph in out of the box is fast in scale mph . whatever blows your hair back but going that big has more of a cool factor (to some)but is way beyond what would make this plane fast without being silly .

I spoke with MOTION RC today and they said the flap servo issue mentioned by OV10 and two others are isolated incidents , buy in the event of a problem they will make it right ...
Why I give them all the business I can .

Slow maiden with bad bounce on landing.

My first plane from MRC was the FMS 980mm P40B and that was my favorite. Then I bought the FMS 1450 P51D (Duchess Arlene because everyone knows that Red Tails fly the best) and that became my favorite. When they introduced the P38 in Allied Green I had to get it (because everyone knows the Allied Green flies so much better than the Pacific Silver), that became my favorite. So I guess my favorite is the most recent purchase from MRC.

been looking at the various planes to replace Petie..since I have the Freewing P-51..figured why buy another P-51..so..Ive narrowed down to a dozen lol
but for real..the Zero, P-40 both the 1400mm sizes, and the Fw-190...kinda ruling out the 190 though since that Aces High model looks pretty darn sweet...so Im leaning towards the Zero at the moment.
