I look forward to hearing how your maiden went. You will love it. I know there is very little trim needed on mine.

            Hey Fly girl
Boy today was anything but a good day to fly. If this wind keeps up I'm going to have to go to gliders that need the wind. Have actually been entertaining that thought. Anyhow have so many people that depend on me I might not get the opportunity tomorrow. Got some folks that can't do for themselves so Sunday is the day I try to handle those needs be it a ride to there church or work on there house or going to the grocery store even mowing there grass. I believe that what goes around comes around. That is evident when I needed parts for Pandora and Dan and Bryan instantly stepped up with parts they had as well as the information you supplied.(thank-you again). Maybe after all is done I'll have time. I've really missed my flying time. The Pandora looks too be a welcome relaxing time.

              Hey Pauly
I hope to get things in order earlier so I can put her up tomorrow. Man was the wind up in Kinston today like it was here. Blowing sustained at 20. I'm just not comfortable at that with a foam plane. One of my nitros yes and I know I bought it to learn to fly a Foamie in higher wind but not the maiden. Hope things were better there and you were flying. Have you tried the 4s yet. I'm wondering how its going to handle it..

It was bad here too Dewey! I wanted to maiden my new EDF but no way today. Flew my FPV Seagull but got blown all over the place. Got a video coming of it. It's supposed to be even windier here tomorrow.... If its not raining then its blowing lately! Hope you get the chance!

Same here to Dewey! Wind is kicking up a bit today and yesterday too. I was hoping to get some time in today. We are having a cookout at the club today, but it looks like we may just do some fellowshipping and eating instead of flying. I was looking forward to getting some time in to. I'm not so comfortable about 18 to 20 either. Hopefully it will die down later on since the meeting is a 4. Where exactly at is your in Fayetteville. What was the name of it? Lauren, I haven't even had a chance to build my Neptune from the sweepstakes. I just got a receiver yesterday so hopefully I can start on it sometime this week.

                      Hey Pauly
I am a member of Davis Bridge Aeromodelers. We are located between Davis Bridge and Parking NC. Just about 5 miles out of Rockfish NC. I actually live in Cumberland Country but the club is in Hoke. Only 15 minutes from my house in Fayetteville. Winds are still up here and just finished with what I had to take care of today. So I'm not even going to the field. Besides most of the guys have gone to Joe Nalls this weekend. I was hoping to go for at least one day but couldn't get off.😔 Really wanted to attend this year. I really hate missing that one.

                        Hey guys and lady
I was just kinda wondering what y'all done on the battery pack. I have been leaning towards putting a nonskid surface down and using the stock strap or putting down velcro on battery and battery bay. Which do you recommend using. I do know that the stock configuration is not going to work. Thanks for recommending a better way. Day after tomorrow god willing she's going up. Boss absolutely needs me tomorrow but I told him I had to have a day. Don't have a retirement yet but I've either put off my wants for him or the one's that depend on me and I can't let the folks I take care of go without. But the boss can do without me for at least a day. Again thanks for any advice on the way your securing your batteries.

Hey Dewey I put Velcro on all my batteries and planes even the ones with the straps. I've had occasions where the battery has slid back or forward greatly changing your cg and causing real issues in mid flight. Velcro is really cheap insurance against this.

Yeah Dewey, I'm with Farmflyer, I put Velcro on the bottom of all my batteries. That way there is no issue with a battery coming lose ever. I went out to the club for the cookout today and the wind was up 12 mph some today, but I did wait and let it calm down a little and put the Pandora up and by the time I got to the 5th battery the was dead calm. Only problem was it by that time its time to pack up because of the time. Tomorrow from what I hear the wind is only suppose to be at 4 mph. Goodluck to you and I hope you get to maiden that bird tomorrow.

Ha! I'm the same way Pauly... Too many "projects". Just had another one added to the list last Thursday. I had my RMRC Mudskipper 250 race quad let all the smoke out for some reason. All I did was arm the motors and got a big puff out of the body. Something fried.... My RV Jet is waiting to get it's spring sorting out while my Y6 Scorpion MR and my DJI Flamehwwl all need refitting. Add in the new Rebel jet and I really need retirement to start this week. LOL!

Dewey, too much wind here too to fly today although it was really sunny and pretty out. :(

I've been using Velcro too but the 250 racing quad people came up with a kind of neat idea that I have been trying instead. So far it works pretty well. It is the same principle as a rubber bath mat in a shower. What I use is Sorbothane vibration dampener which is kind of a weird sort of hardened but soft gel material that is eternally tacky it seems. I've used it often in quadcopters to reduce vibrations to flight controllers and cameras but then I noticed the manufacturers of racing quads started using it as non skid pads for batteries in the quads. It's kind of pricey but it comes in like 12 x 12 inch pads that you cut to size and then glue onto the wood battery plates. Whats nice is once you undo the battery straps around the battery you no longer have to pry the battery off the plate by trying to separate the Velcro. Half the time with Velcro the piece on the plate or the battery would peel off due to the adhesive getting old. Try it and see if you like it. You can get Sorbothane sheets on Amazon in various thicknesses.

CAMCO SLIP STOP - A really affordable non slip material for our hobby.
Have been using this stuff for years to prevent things from sliding around and it also can serve as padding. It was originally designed to serve the RV industry to keep dinner plates from moving in the cabinets while in motion.
I wrap about a 3" wide strip of the Camco Slip Stop around the LiPo and then secure it in place with the battery straps and I have never had a battery move under the strap. This stuff is also super affordable like around $6 for a 1 ft by 12 ft roll. It can be acquired at any RV/camper dealer or on Ebay like this site.

                                  Best regards,

I prefer the velcro straps, but with something like OV10 mentioned to keep the batteries from sliding out. I'm going to give Camco Slip stop a try. Doc

Thanks fly girl, ov10 and doc. I knew I was going to need something. The little strap in Pandora just isn't enough. I'll definitely pick up some camcorder slip stop. Sounds like the ticket for this situation. Thanks again.
