Can anyone tell me if the spectrum dx8 g1 tx is a good radio?

Is the spectrum DX8 G1 Tx a good radio for a "noob"? I want to get something I don't have to upgrade right away. Also what's a good price on a used one?

Question for the spektrum users... i ve recently gone to a dx7e e is for economy im told,,,(shouda bought a dx8)o well... i like to have a quick look down at time remaining ,,only at height.... mostly flying f4 fantom on this.... 4 now..but the screen light goes out after a minute .. im sure i can change it but... not sure what screen to go to. it has many more than my old detrum dynam trans.. thanx in advance
