apprentice STS

HELP! I'm an r c pilot with over fifty years of flying. My first Radio was a 4 channel world engines, which I purchased new in 1974. My grandson bought an apprentice STS on marketplace for $100. Its new never flown or Assembled. 2 servos, a 30 amp speed controller, and the motor are already in the aircraft. And there was a package with a A3230 flight controller in it and a new 3200mah 3s battery included. No Transmitter or receiver was included. Which reciever do I need and will my DX8 work for this? lHow does the reciever hook to the A3230? How do I program this mess? I've never used any kind of flight controller or safe system. So I am at a loss....
