Does anyone know what retracts to use with this model?

The suggested retracts are pretty poor. They do not fit well and have no shock absorption capability. After buying a set for over $120 and reallizing the same set was sold by others for less than $40 I was pretty disgusted with them. They are totally inadequate for this plane.

I discarded them an bought the retracts for the 1600mm Spitfire which includes the doors, wheels and metal hubs. They also have compression struts. All in all a far superior product, at lower cost. The are not a perfect fit, they require some tweaking. The wheel well openings have to be enlarged and the gear doors needed to be heated and taped down while cooling to conform to the shape of the wing. They do not go all the way inside the wheel well leaving about 1/8" up at the far edge of the wheel well opening. I can live with that.

Mine is powered by a Saito .80 4C and feels heavy. It is close to completion. As with most ARFs some hardware was missing and other hardware was way over supplied. In my kit the tail wheel mount was missing and had to be fabricated. This is a very model for experienced modelers but not for a newbie.

The Nexa BF-108 Taifun is now completely assembled. It is a heavy model. The specified CG is 95 mm back from leading edge. My model has a Saito .82 for power. To achieve the balance point it needs to have 3lbs added to the firewall. I don’t think it will fly very well at the ensuing weight. Probably it will be a very expensive hangar queen. Does Motion RC test fly their models before selling them?

To achieve the balance point it needed 1lbs 7 ounces of weight added to the nose to balance. I think it will have to fly fast to stay up. I am hoping it will not turn into an expensive hangar queen. I highly doubt it. Nexa is a "VQ" model that Motion sells under it's own name. Unless you see a video of the build and a flight in the product's webpage, it's not likely Motion did anything with it before putting on their website. You are best to find YouTube videos of this plane and see what other owners have done to make it fly.
