  • Landing gear P47

I have a new FMS 1700 P 47. At set up all was working fine .Then one retract did not drop and will not drop. Any ideas. I tried re-cycling gear no fix.
    All connections look good.

      Ron 1950,
Do not have a servo tester. I by passed all the quick disconnects and went from the retract into rec. No fix.

I have had the same thing happen on my FMS 1700mm F4U Corsair. The retracts seem very temperamental and I would guess that yours are the same mechanics just not 90 degree rotating. I cringe every time I go to drop the gear expecting one to hang. There are small micro-switches at both ends of the jack-screw travel on a small circuit board inside the housing that seem to have problems after a little harder than normal landing and they stop working for some reason. At least that is what I think. I have taken mine apart and reassembled them and they work again for a few cycles but are not reliable. I end up replacing them as a result. I have not had one do it new out of the box. I too would like to know if there is a fix for this as it can get expensive replacing retracts. If it is new and you got it from MRC they will most likely replace it FOC.

          Steve,
This is a new plane. Not from MRC. Got this one at ForceRC for $360 MRC wanted $460. Could not pass up the deal. I usually buy all my planes from Motion.

I'm thinking that, if its like the 1400mm retracts, the side pieces may be overtightened, that will do it on the 1400 mm, might be the case with your 1700.

Update on P 47 retract. Pull gear completely apart. There are two small micro switch on pc board. One or both are not working. Forcerc is sending a replacement.

                  Hello Phill,
Thanx for referencing that forum thread for others to review. I have been using those controllers as fixes for several years and the thread author(AussieHoppy) acknowledged me as a co-contributor on his update of 31Jan2016.
