  • UMX P-51D BL BNF Basic (EFLU3350)

I received an e-mail from Horizon Hobby this morning that they have a new UMX Mustang that uses a 2S battery instead of the 1S the current UMX plane uses.

I have a bunch of 2S batteries for my UMX Pitts so this plane is of interest to me, I can use batteries I already own. :)

The Foam Frenzy special runs through July 26th so I don't need to order right away. Horizon says the plane should be shipping in early July.

If Motion decides to carry this plane let me know and I'll hold off on ordering it until you get it set up in your system.

For those curious about this plane, here it is:

The UMX P-51D BL BNF Basic with AS3X by E-flite is a quality built remote controlled airplane. See all our RC product options online at Horizon Hobby!

Thanks dkalwishky-Like you, I saw that ad and have already pre-ordered one of these. I have the brushed 1 cell powered P-51D with AS3X, and have flown it so many times that the brushes on the motor are about worn out now. I have to spin the prop to get it to start sometimes! I've had the plane nearly 3 years, and have hundreds of flights on it, so it is probably time to replace that motor. I am hoping the new 2 cell brushless version will have the same flight characteristics, but also should be faster! Looking forward to seeing it.

I've got 10 or 15 flights on mine now and it's a hoot to fly! I'm enjoying this plane, now if they would come out with a Corsair I'd be in heaven.
