it's my first PNP plane. I got a spektrum 4 channel sport receiver. I notice the plug coming from the esc has a little wire with a single little plug thing next to the one that is three pronged. any idea idea where I plug that single wire in? the throttle 3 wire plug I think goes in where its labeled 1 on the receiver. over that is batt and is that where I place the single wire or is that for the bind plug (this receiver has a button for binding) and then I don't know which lead is elevator and which is rudder. do I just plug em in and if wrong surface moves I change em? any help would be appreciated!

Can you post up a picture of all these wires? Unless someone who actually has this plane and comes to comment, a picture may be very helpful. Not sure what the single wire is for. As for the rest, the triple wire from the ESC goes into the throttle channel. The others ............... plug them in to the ELE and AIL port, work the sticks. If they are not the correct control surface, just swap them. Be mindful of the plug's polarity. It won't hurt if the AIL and ELE are in the wrong ports. You'll know when you work the sticks.
Don't plug in the single wire lead for now. You don't have enough channels to do anything with that on your RX anyway. Do the bind using the button on the RX. Then do the throttle calibration. If it all works, go fly.

OK, I've seen a picture of the ESC with the wires. The triple lead is indeed the throttle lead. That single wire I believe is not to be used on this plane. That HobbyWing ESC is typical of the current generation of their speed controllers. That single wire is for "reverse" in planes that are used on short runways and reversing the thrust will help shorten the landing roll. This plane does not need this feature and you can't use it anyway with only a 4 channel receiver. Reverse is most handy on jets (EDF) that land very fast and rolls for a long distance to come to a stop. This plane is almost like a trainer and will land quite slowly. Something to file away in your mind for future reference when you advance into fast landing planes.
