Ok, since it seems that Horizon Hobby and FMS have joined, wouldn't it be sweet if they added an AS3X receiver into the FMS 800mm line-up of warbirds, or at least made it a BNF option? The 800's are fun, fit easily in a car, and with a gyro tuned for them, I think they could become very popular sellers. Seems like it would be a natural fit, and cheap to implement since both products already exist. They would make a nice step up from the UMX lineup. Anyone else interested?

800mm FMS Warbirds and AS3X Stability

Well I just read a good bit of the MRC stock discussion with prices going up on FMS stuff, and it seems due to HH's influence. I've been kind of out of the loop in the Squawk forum, and was not aware of all the issues and price increases coming from this "merger", so perhaps my idea here is not as good as I initially thought. I noticed too, that quite a few of the 800mm planes have been dropped anyway. I've got a few Orange and Lemon gyro receivers, guess I'll use those in the 800's that I have.

I try to stay away from planes, especially warbirds that are less than 1200mm. They just don't work very well off grass fields. The exception are those that can be hand thrown and belly landed. I'm starting to really like the UMX models as they can handle a ridiculous amount of wind for their size. And of course, that whole Horizon and FMS thing is a real bummer. I don't know how much influence HH has on the FMS overseas market, but if I must have an FMS plane, I'll buy from shops directly from China.
