What is the secret to NOT bouncing on a touch down. So damn tired of "THE BOUNCE" Snaps Trunnions right off. No matter what speed I bring her down with I bounce. I am starting to loathe these suspension retracts. I can set down every bird I own like a damn swan but not this plane. I love the way she flies HATE the way she lands.

You can't flare a tail-dragger the way you would a trike;you have to keep the tail up, and let the sink rate bring it to the runway. Softer tires can help, too, if you can find ones that fit.

Yeah the rest of my fleet is all tail draggers. I am headed to hardware store to find softer springs. I am sure some of it is my tecnique but the heavy spring loading on the struts does more damage than good I think. I only have about a 500ft runway/street hard 90s at either end with trees on approach. So I need to bank in and drop down after a 90. Not as easy as it sounds. I need a new spot! Oh and the street crests in the middle so down hill both ways basically lol.

One other thing about my 1.4m Mustang is that, if I don't hold the tail up with the elevator until it won't stay up, it will flare when the tail drops, especially in winds, causing a bounce. Short runways would make this harder, of course.
