  • FMS Zero V2 750mm

I want to buy this model, BUT, does its motor operate O.K. on 3S lipos? The spare parts shown contain a 2S lipo for this plane.

Will it fry on 3S?> Y/N

    Will it be short-lived? Y/N

Any other source for this motor which has a more detailed description?

    Re: FMS Zero V2 750mm

I have this model and while I have heard of others flying it with a 3 cell battery, I have found the 1300mAH 2 cell battery to provide plenty of power, with flight times of between 5-7 minutes depending on throttle management. Some of the guys in the forums routinely fly these FMS 800mm size planes on 3 cell batteries, and I have not heard of any ill effects. Hope this helps.

      Re: FMS Zero V2 750mm

Hi, Loneflyer, thanks for your input on running these FMS 800;s on 3S
lipos. Since I posted my question on the Motionrc forum, I've found guys who
      DO use these.

My interest comes from the fact that I have two 3S 800 mAh lipos that I
once bought by mistake, thinking that I could run a brushed motor on 3S,
merely by holding down on the speed of the plane. WRONG, I learned on a forum.
It was pointed out that each "pulse" from the lipos HIT the motor with
FULL voltage, even though only for milliseconds, eventually killing the motor
      by overheating the innards!

Now I feel that using these batts will be O.K. and that I'll finally get
      some use out of them.

      Thanks for your response.

      Virg.
