I just picked one of these up late last week. Anyone else have one of these?

I think it's great except for a couple minor issues. My tail wheel was out of alignment out of the box and at half throttle or more this thing climbs aggressively. I keep adjusting the trim but for the most part I have to give it some serious down elevator to fly level at half throttle or more.

Overall it's a very nice flying plane and it has shown some durability in taking some rough landings with very minimal damage.

I bought mine when they first came out, I really like it. I hope they come out with a Corsair!

Does yours tend to climb when throttle is increased above half? This is my first mustang of any kind so I wasn't sure if it's just this particular model or if that's a mustang thing. I've got my trim maxed out and it still seems to climb quite a bit.

Not that I recall. I fly mine between 75% and 100% power all the time. Does it balance the the proper CG? If I get to fly this weekend I'll take it and pay attention to that.

Did you also get it trimmed mechanically when you put it together. If I may make a suggestion. Take the plane and plug it in. Look and see where your elevator is positioned. Now take note of the place you have it trimmed at on your tx. Now put the trim back to center on the tx. You will probably see that the elevator is probably up a little. Now adjust the clevisis to get it to line up with the centerline of the horizontal stabilizer. Also make sure everything is tight on the horizontal. I screwed up when I put my Pandora together and did not tighten my horizontal 😳 all the way and it wanted to climb the more throttle it got. Having to use that much trim does really seem to point to the mechanical trim or cg as dkalwisky stated. Let us know what you find.

Is this not the plane where several flyers have had to add shims to force the elevator and rudder section downward? Check the RC Groups web site on this plane as well.

I checked all the surfaces when I plugged in the battery the first time, they all seemed to be pretty lined up. But I noticed immediately that increasing throttle made her climb. There are no clevis's on this plane, but I can slightly adjust the position of the elevator. I will fool around with it and see what I can do.

You're right it is. Thanks for the heads up. Looks like a lot of people have this issue. It's a little annoying to have to keep pushing up on the stick to level it out. Other than that it's a tremendous plane.

Great. I'm glad you found it. Now you can have a relaxed flight instead of fighting with it.

Once I fix it yes it should be good. Not thrilled about having to cut into a brand new plane to install shims to get it to fly right. But it might be worth the effort.

For its price, I really think it's fantastic. But yes, striving for perfection I guess often requires a little tinkering! But no matter what the outcome or how I proceed from here, definitely not a waste. Just being nitpicky I guess.

No not nitpicky. Because we have so long as modelers come to expect to have to work on a model when it comes out of the box with flaws we have just learned accept it (or conditioned). It is not unreasonable to expect a bird to be flight ready out of the box if directions have been followed. The quality control has gotten way out of hand. That is why I have to praise MRC for there efforts to make every one's experience with doing business with them as painless as possible because of these problems. Not only that the delay on the bearcat because of a sub standard quality part. That's devotion to the customer and the hobby. So no not picky. Just getting what its expected. Thanks to Motion for there dedication to that.
