  • Flightline FW-190

I've had my Flightline FW-190 for a little over a month but one last night started to put it together. One thing is stumping me however, where are other owners putting the receiver? I'm not seeing a place to put one. The battery compartment really doesn't have the room and the wing/fuse doesn't have any room. The wing is thick enough where it's underneath the fuze that I could carve a spot, but I don't want to start carving up the new plane when there should be a spot for a receiver.

Maybe I'm completely overlooking something, FW-190 owners, help me out here please.

I put my receiver over the rudder and elevator servos, mounted to the side wall. It is a tight fit. I have also experimented with putting it in one of the side cavities in the battery compartment. I put the LED board in one of these cavities, and the RX in the cavity on the opposite side of the battery compartment. I ended up not liking the RX in that cavity; so, I moved it further aft. No matter where it is, it'll be difficult to mate/demate servo connectors to the RX.

unfortunately my receiver won't fit between or above the rudder/elevator servos. Kind of ticks me off, it a nice looking airplane but how the hell do they think you can fly it w/o carving a new airplane up so a receiver will fit it. Makes me wonder where it was placed for the video Motion RC did. Can't believe no one else has not commented on this. Are the other Flightline planes like this?

6-channel LemonRX receivers are quite small and inexpensive... :-)

When I get home after work I will take a pic of where my rx is mounted and will post it. It's a great flying plane.

Here are the pics of my rx installation. It seemed to be the best place to put the rx I put some tubing on the control rods so they wouldn't accidently dig into the servo wires. Hope these pictures help out.

I have the same problem...NO ROOM in plane. I had wanted to put a 10 Ch Admiral and A3 Pro in....I don't have a good spot for just a 6 Ch receiver...:(I must say Mad Barron was very helpful...

After trimming out the plane in flight it is a pretty stable plane and I found that I could do without the gyro due to the limited space. My Mosquito has a gyro in it and it helps smooth out the flight.

Just glad these models are so much better built than the old days of GWS! Even though I flew those in extreme wind conditions, they were like plastic bags in the wind compared to the flight line models of today. When I had a gws p51, it was the first time I did a horizontal flat spin lol
