  • How is the Bearcat Flying? For those who have one.

Hello Pilots & Friends, I just wanted to ask the over-all perspective of how this model is flying thus far? Are there any complaints, compliments or anything one should be aware of early in the stage. I sure like the look and fit of everything Fliteline is doing. The detail is looking better each time a new series comes available, nice to see this. I hope people are gathering the entire series of these models. The price is no-where near FMS prices, thank goodness! I'm hoping to have them all in my hangar, talk about impressive! The Spitfire is immaculate in detail and workmanship for an EPO product. I was really happy to see, such nice detail work with a new product. Well, I thank you, for your listing a head of time. Matt in C/S Motion RC!

    Hello Matt,
Don't know if your aware, but the Official Announcement thread on the Bearcat(which is at 23 pages) is the spot where most of what you asked about to comment on in your first two sentences is being so noted. One pretty big concern(qualifies as a complaint) that has surfaced is the control box which was brought to the forums attention by Grossman56. You might want to venture over to this link.

    Best regards,
    Warbird Charlie

The Bearcat is one excellent flying airplane. Very well behaved, and no bad tendencies that I have found through three flights. Settles in for beautiful, slow, scale carrier landings with full flaps deployed. Excellent power for vertical maneuvers, and very easy stall recovery. The Bearcat hits it out of the park through the entire flight envelope. Awesome airplane.

As far as the control box goes, it is only used for Aileron, Flap, and Retract control. It gets power from the retract channel on the receiver, and the flap and aileron leads are for signal only. While it does have plug ins for the rudder and elevator, they are not used for this model.

Completely agree with what you said. My scale prop mod makes the takeoff and landings a bit more difficult, but it is a fantastic flyer overall!

            Best regards,
Yes, Thank you. I like to gather my own personal information to assist other customer after or on my own. I find long threads to be difficult sometimes, then I myself can mix things up. I'm doing this after some time has gone by, let the room settle in a bit; if you will. Roger Wilco. Matt

              Hey Matt!
I have to agree with the boys, I have 9 flights on mine and am hard pressed to find a fault with this plane. Had a 5-8 mph wind yesterday right down the runway. Deployed 15 degrees of flap for take off even though she really didn't need it, more for fun than anything. Added throttle and about 10 feet into her takeoff run, she hit a rock and was airborne. With any of my 1400 mm's, they would have settled back on the ground, going a different direction, not this Gal, she's airborne!
We have a paved runway, albeit not in the best of shape and we've filled in the cracks with recycled road material, so there are small stones to avoid, small to us, not so much to a small airplane.
Considering what I've seen you fly in your videos, your not going to have a smidgen (to quote someone....) of trouble. The only thing I can't comment on is how she does on grass, other than that, just put your batteries all the way forward and fly the thing!!!!

I've only got four flights on mine (stupid darkness coming at 5pm and crappy weekend weather) but I must say this is my favorite prop plane at the moment.

She goes together easily, decals are really nice and the planes flies very nicely. No bad habits yet. The wide gear helps it track straight and landings are easy with flaps.

I'm flying with the Admiral 3600 all the way forward and I think the plane is a tad tail heavy but I have fat fingers so who knows. :) She is a fantastic flier, I'll be buying another one!

I found her a little 'floaty' with the 3600, and better with the 4000s. Pat just reported that his flew great with a 6200, so the battery range seems to be huge. Sounds like a 12 minute flight with a 6200!!
                  WOW!!!

This is the season. A remarkable aircraft, they fly fantastic according to the customer input. Slow flight is out of this world, so it must be really fun to play around with the Bearcat! Get em while they are a steal of a price! Have fun, Matt

                      Max,

I've got maybe 10 flights on mine so far. It was the easiest, most stress-free maiden I've done in a long time. Mine needed no trim and I was comfortable with it immediately. It is well worth the money!

Okay, I'm sold! That's makes a huge difference when you have a model that fly's substantially better than others of the industry. Goes to prove my theory on the person (s) involved making this new lineup of aircraft. That's all I have heard thus far with fliteline is the stability of the air-frames. Plus, they look fantastic. Display or flying, these are priced right & look good to boot! Thanks for the information! Matt C/S Motion RC

I have been flying for a very long time and this is one of the best behaved warbirds I have flown. Have one and loved it so much ordered another.

I agree, Flightline raises the bar for quality warbirds. This is by far the easiest warbird to maid so far. I have 14 flights on mine and loved every one of them.
I was always uncomfortable flying upside down, I had enough confidence with this plane to do successfully.

That's great information to hear! Yes, every time I maiden a $300 to $1000 dollar aircraft, I'm shaking or the nerves are showing. In time, I was able to chill out the nerves more. It just takes a nice airplane or confidence in one ability. I've changed a lot of my systems this year. I'm going to the DX8 Gen II transmitter, the Admiral battery is a no contest. They work fantastic for all of my warbirds & jets. Shoot, now my wife's going to start back up on her nagging about me spending money on airplanes. Some of you out there; I'm sure you know what I'm talking about...Can't beat 'em, hide some $$$ every now & then. They never know what models you have anyways. It's one I had in the closet, I just decided to build it because you wouldn't let me get a new one. Whaaaaaa! Whaaa! Just like sweep-pee in Popeye! Kidding here gents, it's fine. I just have to stay in check, so she can pay the bills. Thanks for reading, I enjoy hearing from you all. Matt Customer Service "dude"..
