  • FMS 4FU Corsair I think. Antennae problem

My grandson gave me remnants of 4FU Corsair, in which a receiver, servo', esc were wired together, but, the antennae was broken off of the receiver. Could someone please help with placement of antennae and length exposed wire of antennae? Hope someone can help me?

Ok, I believe I have it. Will do a range test tomorrow. The bar closest to edge is ground or negative. (the 3 different colors are all in 1, or negative. I used these points to mount the coax shield) The heavy solder is the antennae pickup point.

      G'day Mate,
If the unit has been damaged and you think the aerial has been damaged, I would throw it away rather than risk it. At least take it to a radio checking station [a qualified CB radio installer] and have them check it out.
The length of the aerial and the resistance through that wire is calculated to the band width.
      Not worth the effort.
Any unit that has 'survived' a crash needs to be checked over as there may be hidden damage that will not show in a static range check but will become very apparent in the air. Especially if wires have been pulled from the circuit board or dislodged in any way.
To fly with this unit without a full check, is very dangerous and could lead you to have an out of control model.
      Again, not worth it.
      Regards and respect
      Daryl

Ok a range test at 500 ft proved that my antennae repair has solved a break in the system. When I get the bird up and airborne, I will report back to forum on operation. of unit.

        Thanks for your help
