800mm warbird prop question

I have the FMS 800mm Corsair and Zero.

My flying area is rough belly landing country.

Have demolished every 3 bladed (on the Zero) and 4 bladed (on the corsair) in the process.

I know people go on about 2 bladed props but I'm hoping someone can tell me specifically what 2 bladed props,spinners,adaptors I need to go with.

Zero 800mm: the standard is the 3 bladed prop with a little hex but that tightens it down and then the 3 bladed spinner plate and spinner. If I go 2 bladed

What size propo and make?
What is the prop shaft size and what spinner, etc?

Corsair 800mm: standard is a 4 bladed prop with a little spinner front and back plate then the screw down spinner. But there is a little rectangular shape at the base of the prop shaft that the stock prop seats on.

What size prop and make?
Do I need some aadaptor to make it work considering the rectangular cleat at the base of the prop shaft?

Obviously I'd prefer to order from motion but if you can give me links to specific web pages on motion or other hobby shop pages that would be great.

Both planes are awesome, surpringly the zero is easier to fly.

I plan on doing the same. IIRC the zero has a 3mm shaft. Heads up rc has 3mm collet type prop adapters that I plan to use with an APC prop. Will require motor shaft to be cut off shorter.

I wont be able to use the stock spinner so I'll have to get over that. If the props didnt break, the motor shaft might bend. Heads up has those too.

Electric props generally come with adapters that match the prop to a variety of shaft sizes; I've yet to get one that didn't have an adapter to fit. As to prop size, going from 3 to 2 blades, you would go up 1 inch in diameter with the same, or nearest pitch available to the 3. From 4 to 2, you can go up an inch and also one or two inches of pitch. That is rule-of-thumb, because props of the same size, but from different makers, can draw differing amounts of power; get a watt meter and test, so you don't let the magic smoke out, and to verify the power input is about the same for similar performance. And, spinners are optional; just go to your LHS and check them out.

I fully agree about the multi-blade props on the FMS 800mm planes. An 8x6 two-blade works just fine. I've been using a GWS "slow-fly" prop on my Corsair, and it belly lands without breaking. If anything, it seems slightly more powerful than the stock prop. You'll need a 3mm nut behind it.

Thanks for the lead on the adapter. I have been using just an E-Flight 8x6 prop and it works fine. I would like the collet style if that will work on the threaded shaft that FMS uses for these 800mm war birds. My LHS said it likely would not work on a threaded shaft. If you have had success, please let us know! Options are always good!

i use the eflite 3mm bullet collet adapter on all my 800mm planes. i use the APC 7x5 props...work perfect. like said , you have to shorten the shaft quite a bit. iv'e had NO problems at all with the collets coming loose . i run 3s in all my 800's

Got mine retro-fitted. With an APC 8x6 prop I pull about 15A WOT, pretty close to the same as stock 3-blade prop. No flights yet, need to practice with some larger birds before attempting an 800mm, my first one.
