  • New Eflite P-47 1.2

I have not seen a topic on this plane, though I would post my experience with mine. I live in Texas where there always seems to be windy flying days. So with all 4 of my Eflite 1.2 foamys I go to larger ESC and 4000 4s lipos. This plane flies on rails in windy conditions and has AWESOME power with a 60Amp ESC and 4s lipos. I tried the larger ESC and 4s with the original 4 blade prop but I was cranking 84amps & 1224 watts which I knew would not last, The 2 blade 11x7 was much better with 48Amps & 990 Watts at 39% lipo with 6.5 minutes of fly time.....This is a very nice flying plane, with NO regrets...

I am using a 4-cell 2200 Admiral Pro with all mine with the exception of the T-28 and which I upgraded the ESC 45 and 3000 4-cell battery. This one flies wwll with the power plant. I have had good flying so far with 4-cells and 2200, 50C setup. Thanks for your suggestions.

Nice..I purchased a Watt/Amp meter with a few extra functions from Motion RC, I found this to be a must have for tuning eletric RC planes. First time I used it on my New P47 it saved me $$$.;)

I would like to hear more about this plane I'm sure some of you are flying it. Are you flying it stock on 3s, stock on 4s as Chris Puckett from HH said was ok or did you feel the need to upgrade it?

Hello Sir, This is a smooth flying bird, Very stable with only slight right rudder to track straight down the runway on take off. landing is a freaking Breeze with this plane with slight on power...As far as the factory power system, I tried one of my 4000 4s with everything stock and it was pulling waaaay too many Amps with my meter,ESC heated up, lipo got too warm, and flight time was only 2.5 mins. with 15% left in lipo. I was pulling 84AMPS at WOT with my new watt meter...NO DICE FOR ME!!!! In my opinion Upgrades are needed if using a 4s lipo........

So, I purchased a 60amp ESC went with a 11x7 2 blade prop with stock motor the AMPS dropped from 84 to 48 at WOT and with this set-up it was clocked at 87MPH and I flew for 6.5 mins at alot of full throttle the lipo had 39% after the flight. I don't know how this combo would work with stock prop...I use a 2 blade 11x7 on 4000 4s with a 60 amp ESC on all my 44-50 inch foam planes.. I do like going FAST..lol. I have only been flying 2 years but I will tell everyone a Watt meter is a must have when modifying these plane...Hope this helps you.:)

That's very good info. I know most folks like to keep "more stock looking" 3 or 4 blade props but that's not really a deal breaker for me. I'm more interested in the overall performance and taking it easy on my equipment. Thanks for the reply I was surprised there wasn't more discussion on this plane I'm sure the other new offerings that have recently been released have greatly overshadowed it.

I am still enjoying this little P-47, everything has been flawless and with the 60 amp ESC/4s upgrade it's a BEAST.. the stock motor is handling the upgrades fine with 50 + flights and counting........:D
