Amen to that! The Albatross has been one of my "top 5" for years. There have been several fiberglass/ multimedia kits come and go through the years but with the technology available in foamies these days, NOW is the time for a nice HU-16A! With a 60" to 72" wingspan!

Flyzone made scale retracts happen with the Seawind. So i don't see why this can't happen either

I do love the Grumman Albatross. There are several seaplanes I'd like to see produced. Do you already own a seaplane? If so, which is it, what do you like about it, and what do you not like about it?

I've owned a few seaplanes over the years, and there are always pros and cons.

Grumman Albatross definitely. I have 2 Flyzone Beavers and a Dynam Catalina. Great flying off water. Need to really use the timer though. In the beginning, I ran out of juice a few times, had to dead stick land and grab the boat to go and get 'em. That doesn't happen anymore...Grumman J2F Duck Biplane is something I want to fly off water....

I'm retired Coast Guard and they were just finishing up with their decom when I got to the fleet and had replaced them with a more modern and less capable rescue plane that still today is too much cost for too little value Falcon business jet.
It's my favorite seaplane and well there ya have it. Besides no one makes any good seaplanes, they all look too prissy and don't have such an awesome history behind them

I'd be interested in a nice size Albatross, say 1600mm or larger. I fly off of water as often as I can with a Dynam Catalina, Flyzone Beaver, Tidewater and Seawind.

In addition to the Coast Guard scheme, there are several colorful USAF schemes and the ominous all black with red lettering special ops version.

I have 3 sea planes the flyzone Seawind (fpv), dynam Catalina (fpv) and the Hobby King Skipper. My service was in the Army and a deployment in Iraq where things didn't go so well. Anyway, I love flying off my pond with all three. Only thing i had problems with on takeoff with the Cat, and Seawind is sometimes the wings will drag. Otherwise they are awesome flying

Flying boats are very cool but in my experience pontoon planes are easier to operate off of water. With a flying boat with fixed tip floats it's too easy to drag one in the water or grass or just the ground if you don't stay level. You have to make sure you land and takeoff almost perfectly level unless it has retractable floats like the PBY. Not as big a problem with pontoons being closer together. Maybe I just need more experience with flying boats but my pontoon planes are a piece of cake. One guy in our club has a PBY and I've seen it cartwheel way too many times when it drags a tip float.
Although not a flying boat but this is why you don't see many RC O2 Kingfishers or A6M "Rufes". Disaster waiting to happen.

I'm flying the Timber on floats Great bird! Plenty of wing and power even when it's windy it can handle some swells.
Anyone know the WS on this bird?

I've been in the Seattle/Vancouver area and I've seen a couple of beavers, a cub, a Cessna, and a beaver with a turbo prop all on floats flying around.

Back home on the lake I have a.cadbonz cub, a Maule aumx carbon cub and the Dynam Catalina that I fly regularly. My Macchi is down due to a crack in the hull.

I'd love to see more seaplanes especially warbirds. The Albatross in coastie livery is gorgeous

The Albatross, as talked about in this thread, which goes back to Dec. of 2016, was a "would like to see Flightline make one". It doesn't exist. However, HobbyKing has indicated that they have one in production but the release date is yet to be announced. It is estimated to be in the 1500mm to 1600mm wingspan range. Knowing HobbyKing, we may not be able to actually buy one for months.

I believe they still do a lot of the same things on their FaceBook page. A lot of their "news", along with pictures and videos have been turning up there.
