    FMS 1400 T-28 retract noise

Just assembled an FMS 1400 T-28. The landing gear are pretty grindingly noisy. Is there something inside that can be lubricated, or is this just the way this assembly sounds in normal operation?

You can try, but it may not help. Inside is a small motor and gear train, turning a threaded shaft; you can try greasing the gear train, just don't let it get near the brushes of the motor or on the circuit board.

You probably won't hear them in use, anyway, as the motor and prop are lots louder over the runway.

      Thanks, I'll take a look.

Wasn't the noise itself as much as the sound of something screaming to be oiled.
