Hey Bill,
Yes, my Duke does have pull/pull for the nose steering. I have had no issues with it, with no planned changes. Most of my mods on my planes are limited to adding cooling for the Lipo and ESC, my motto is "If it aint broke, dont fix it". It is a wonderful plane with great flight characteristics, the only exception as stated before it has a nasty habit of shedding prop blades and is mandatory you change to a 1 piece 3-blade if you want to minimize incidents.
If you find the Mfg. send it to MRC for consideration.

I have found a vendor that has a few of the Duke Twin in stock however, I'm skiddish on the Pull-Pull system.
Any tips to the best way to install it?

Bill,
The Duke twin uses the standard servo arm and the nose strut has dual arms, one on each side. The wire is supplied with brass crimping tubes to lock the pull/pull in place. If you do not feel comfortable with this set up, it looks like a simple matter to use a short 11/2" rod and clevis to retrofit. Another thing I forgot to mention a few flights ago I saw something fall from the bird and closer inspection revealed it was a retract. The retracts are glued to a ply board which is in turn supposed to be glued to the foam, apparently mine wasnt. You may want to check both to insure this does not happen.
I ended up looking for that darned thing for close to an hour in the fields, without success. I hate doing search and rescue in the open fields here, since it is rattlesnake country. Last weekend I lost a lipo in a different field and used my cross country bike to search, figuring I could evade any rattler I encountered. I now use velcro belts for every flight, and not just a 3" strip.

I think I'll go for it and just take my time when it comes to the Pull-Pull system and go the pushrod route in a pinch.

I totally identify with the field search aprehension. Here in Oklahoma I live around 20miles north of a town called Waurika which is the home of the Annual Oklahoma Rattlesnake Hunt.

Hello Bill alias Rocketeer,
I am a little slow sometimes in answering stuff but just wanted to say a BIG THANK YOU for welcoming me to this forum. I am a pencil and paper kind of guy. This new technology has been a challenge for me to say the least. I can emphasize with you because of being a fellow teacher. Even though I retired a year ago June, I am still doing some football coaching and even dream at night about l being in the classroom. It is in the blood. I love your enthusiasm. I live up here by Glacier National Park and enjoy the beauty and the Big Sky. I do not know if I would like to be around the rattlesnakes. I think I prefer the grizzly over the snake. At least I can see them.
You have a fantastic school year!! Try not to let the common core stuff get to you. I think I was doing it all the time but they just had to add a new"buzz word' and all the paper work that came with it. Do not miss that part of teaching!!!

No problem... glad you're still with us!!

You know if behooves me to think that my wife and I continue to reside in the Southwest when we both prefer more forested, mountinous regions. We have talked for many years of planning a trip to Glacier Park. It's on our bucket list.
My wife has coached various high-school and middle school sports for the past 26 years stretching from Nevada to Oklahoma. If I can brag on her for a bit I like to let folks know that she was the second woman ever inducted into Oklahoma High School Athletics Hall of Fame!! She let's me hang with her.

I am so right there with you on the bear vs. snake thing. I totally can not abide those slithering nasties!!

Hey Bill,
If you and your bride ever decide you want to come up in this direction let me know. We have an "Elijah room" and there is sure a lot of beauty and adventure around here. That is cool about your wife!! Does she coach Track and Field at the high school level? Our son is the throws coach at Kent State University and he is always looking for young men and women that can "throw far" in the shot, discus, Javelin and hammer as well as being coachable and having outstanding values. His bio is on their web site. If she does, have her get in contact with him. He has a good group of young ladies that will becoming in for this next year but he told me that he is going to need a bunch of young men for the year after that. Such is the life of a D -1 university coach.

Greetings Rick,

Shared your response with the misses and she sends her appreciation.
It just happens that for the past many years my wife has worked specifically with our high school throwers both male and female. Over those years she's helped produce some pretty salty-dogs.
She herself set a state record for female discus while in high school and continued to hold on to it for many years. I always teased her about under-coaching to protect her record but, like all records, it was meant to be broken and eventually one of her throwers did just that. She couldn't have been prouder.

Right now she's got the relatively easy cross-country duties. Send them off and just wait for them to get back.....

I told her about your son and she was most impressed and mentioned they have a young man with awesome future collegiate potential and he's currently only a freshman.

Anyway, didn't mean to drag on.....
