  • CarbonZ T28 main landing gear repair

I fly my 78" CARBONZ T28 off a grass field, and the constant stress on the main gear has caused a slight bump and tear in the top wing surface due to the bumpy ground. Has this occurred to anyone else, and, if so, how did you go about fixing and strengthening this area?

Yes..it did on mine, right wing side only..I think,if you remove both main landing gear an put a VERY thin piece of hardwwod as a square shim between the foam wing and retract it would keepthe retract case from pushing through the wing on a not so soft land...Just my .02

Here's my left wing. Way too much wind to be flying that day, wind stopped with the plane 3 feet off the ground and it basically dropped like a rock, ripping the socket out of the wing and punching the retract thru the top. patched it up by sandwiching the wing with 2 pieces of plywood with machine screws all the way thru top & bottom. Put nylock nuts on bottom & epoxied the crap out of the socket! Beats payin $75 to $80 for a wing. Patched the top with foam tac. Hope this helps. Works GREAT since. (black patch is velcro for my Mobius)
