This to me is the most awesome scheme of a Mustang that I have ever seen... I have this on real flight, and really dig it.. If this could be made up in a couple of different size PNP kits, I think that it would be a hit, and I would opt to get one... Ian

To get something like this with no paint would be wonderful . Any scheme you want to do then with a blank canvas .

There is an 800mm P-51 with a paint scheme very similar to this one. It is made by Ares and carried by Hobbytown. It uses a 600mAH 3s battery, and flies very nicely, but flight times are a bit short, at least for me. I like to fly a lot of WOT, loops, rolls, etc, and get about 4 minutes flight on a battery.

I think that if this scheme could be made up around the size of the Roc hobby 42' Strega / Voodo,, ''with retracts'', and set up for a 1600 -2200 3s, that it would sell like hot cakes.. A lot of us have these size packs in quantity, and are always looking for a new use for them.... Ian

Very nice!!! I'm going to get a Freewing P51 with the sound system next fall and really doctor it. I found the aluminum duct tape and will experiment around with that through this winter, some poor P51 out there doesn't know that is about to hit it!!
I was thinking of trying to do 'Contrary Mary' which is a bird that always fastinated me. As near as I can figure,


John Landers commanded the 78th FG until July 1, 1945, then it was taken over by Roy Caviness until October, this picture is post WWII when they opened the field to the English people to view. The picture is from "the Mighty Eighth" by Roger Freeman and is the only picture I've ever seen of her. She has the same call sign letters as Big Beautiful Doll that Landers flew, which makes her all the more interesting. It would be cool to have Big Beautiful Doll and Contrary Mary in my collection

Alpha, how did your Sabre fly? The one you used aluminum colored duct tape on, no loss of signal? This would be the ideal scheme to use that on, I'm thinking

After greater thought and in an effort to eleviate all of the concern associated with aluminum covering vs. aluminum tape etc., You might be able to come very close to achieving the same desired esthetic effect using aluminum Ultracoat or Monocoat. Both of which of course allow full transpondence of the transmitter's signal.

Have you guys ever used bare metal foil for plastic models??? I have used it on RC planes/boats, and rockets, ''and of coarse'' plastic models in the past.. It is super thin, and pressure sensitive, and can be polished with just a soft cotton cloth... Always used gloss clear over it to protect it, after I got the sheen that was desired.. It also had, or has,, an adhesive backing. You would set it in place with warm soapy water, like a decal... It also contours into panel lines and around rivets ect, with slight pressure... Ian
