Help! Nitro Planes P-51D Mustang

I have a Nitro Planes P-51D Miss America (66.5" span) in a box that I bought from another modeler. It has no instructions and I'm having trouble figuring out exactly where to mount the engine. There's a hole in the firewall for the fuel tank to stick out and horizontal and vertical lines making a cross centered on that hole. I want to be sure the engine will be properly aligned when I install the cowl. How should I do that?

Most mustangs are inverted mount and looks like the center of the cross is where the prop shaft should be lined up with. If you can line it up dry fit somehow you could confirm it. but from my experience, that should be how it works

The hole in the firewall/bulkhead is most likely upon closer inspection slightly offset to the right of the firewall center to compensate for the built in down/right thrust angle of the firewall which will leave the motor shaft end near the center of the cowl exit hole(which is also variable based on how the modeler mounts that).
As rifleman indicated, the cross intersection is where the motor/engine shaft center from the back of said power plant would align up.;)

Note: The P-51 comes with oval shaped holes cut out in the firewall to accept the 8-32 blind nuts for mounting the engine mount rails. This allows for different sized engines to be used.
