Someone needs to make a 1700mm size Fokker dr1. I Can find no descent sized electric dr1's, most don't make them any more, great planes etc. Any one know of any one making them any more?, not the small ones.

No I do not know of source and I agree there needs to be one. This is my dream build that I will achieve one of these days but will have to make it from a kit it looks like. I will poke the bear a bit and see if there is any interest from the manufacturer. -
yea we need a foamy of a Dr-1. The only issue is WW1 planes are typically not a big seller so at the moment not on the radar yet. I hope at some point.Comment

Hopefully someday, I'm just surprised that no large scale ones, small, cheap ones around. Great planes had a nice electric, but discontinued. Like to see a foam 60" or so.Comment

Dr1 is a classic/iconic aircraft but they are inherently unstable. Very picky about CG being correct and difficult to get the CG right due to the short nose. Narrow landing gear and the stack of wings make it top-heavy and very tippy when trying to taxi.
The issues with the way they perform chases most people away from trying to fly them. That means they won't sell well.
I've had a few in assorted sizes and by the time the ARF makers get it to have easy flying characteristics it no longer looks right.
The modern SAFE stabilization system (or other "6 Axis" gyro stabilizers) can overcome most of the in flight issues (if you get the CG right.) But that limits performance.
I have the Proctor/VK kit sitting in the shelf waiting its turn to be built.
I flew a Great Planes 60 inch Fokker Dr-1 powered by OS .91 4-stroke for a bit over 2 years, until the aggressive aerobatics I was performing had the structure so cracked that taking off the upper wing the lower wings drooped, being mainly Monokote bags full of balsa chips.
Quite a challenge to fly the things as it has some of the strangest characteristics you'll ever run into. Power off stall could result in it having complete loss of control and "mushing" along appx 10 deg nose up for a LONG time until it dropped a wing. (you couldn't force the nose down or force the spin, just wait for it and hope its in time for recovery.)FF gliders and rubber power since 1966, CL 1970-1990, RC since 1975.
