When Freewing discontinued their Dauntless it left us foamie addicts with a void. :(

What a shame. I even looked on Ebay and there is nothing. Maybe one day they will bring it back, or maybe ill build a balsa kit when I progress. This is such a cool plane.

Yeah the one I know of now is the Phoenix models version it runs $189 from tower it's a 46 size bird that can be run electric.

Unfortunate the Phoenix model does not have correct flaps and no dive brakes. The VQ Models Dauntless looks like a more scale plane to me. I'll be picking one up over the winter.

You can buy iot directly from VQ Warbirds bit it's a little more money and does not include the electric retracts whereas the Hobby King version does.

I don't know why the HK version includes the electric retracts but those that have gotten theirs have said it does. Once it comes back in stock I'll be ordering one.

DK............You've never seen Cap'n Blosh before LOL He LUVS Pilot Ryan :Scared:
Just a heads up on the construction of the HK version which is made by VQ. Having HAD(operative word) the VQ........the fuselage is rather meager in structural strength in the area around the trailing edge of the wing.:(
Also, the wing ply joiners are :Poo: Make some good ones out of some quality birch ply.

The Phoenix is a better build but as you noted the VQ has better flap/dive configuration. The Phoenix faux rotary is phenomenal whereas the VQ is just cheesy.
                  Just some owner inside info;)

Are Hobby King planes worth a darn?

This plane is by VQ Warbirds, HK is just selling them. I haven't read too many negative things about the VQ planes and I've seen a couple of them and they looked good to me. Future spare parts can be purchased from VQ and not HK.

The silly thing is the plane i bought from HK has electric retracts pre-installed, if you buy the plane from VQ it comes with mechanical retracts, the electric ones are like another $100.

How long does it usually take to get stuff from HK?
