    USS Arizona 1/200 Scale 930mm (36.2") US Battleship - RTR from Bancroft - BNC1065-003

The USS Arizona, a 608’ long Pennsylvania-class battleship, holds a significant place in American history, particularly for its tragic role in the attack on Pearl Harbor. Commissioned in 1916, the USS Arizona was part of the U.S. Navy’s expansion during World War I. Although it did not see combat during the war, it became an essential part of the fleet in the interwar period.

On December 7, 1941, the USS Arizona was moored at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, when Japanese forces launched a surprise attack. A bomb penetrated the forward ammunition magazines, leading to a catastrophic explosion that sank the ship and killed 1,177 of its crew. The loss of the USS Arizona represented nearly half of the total American casualties during the attack.

The wreck of the USS Arizona remains at the bottom of Pearl Harbor, serving as a powerful memorial. In 1962, the USS Arizona Memorial was dedicated, straddling the sunken battleship without touching it, to honor the men who perished.

Bancroft’s 1/200 scale USS Arizona allows an impressive museum-quality piece to be displayed on your mantle or astonish your RC boat club with this functional RTR historic model. Hundreds of parts are already assembled, painted, and installed for you. Delivered Ready to Run (RTR), the vessel can be sailing within minutes of arrival, using the included 2.4Ghz radio transmitter, 7.4v 2S LiPo battery, and charger. Only four AA batteries and minimal assembly is required.

Bancroft model boats are molded and hand finished using very intricate details and parts including metal, wood, plastic, and fiberglass. Because of their hand made nature, minor imperfections in the fiberglass, metalwork, or painting may exist. These potential imperfections will not affect the seaworthiness of the vessel or the overall scale boating experience. Bancroft scale RC boats are fragile so care should be taken when moving or transporting your model.

Some of the electronics in this Bancroft boat, including the Battery, ESC, Motor, and Receiver, are NOT intended to get wet; they are NOT water resistant. If any of these electronic components get wet and you attempt to operate your model, the water can cause an electrical short-circuit and void your warranty. In the rare instance that you get water inside your vessel, you should drain the water completely and allow all electronics to fully dry before attempting to operate your model. Hello, I can't help but notice that the Arizona was a four screw ship but it says she has a triple drive motor system - three 390s, three screws - it looks like there are four on the model, do all four get power? is there possibly a gearing system where one 390 runs two screws? or are only 3 truly powered, with one being a dummy? I'd really like to add it to my collection, but I am just curious about the propulsion situation. Happy 4th of July!

You are quite right that the Arizona is a four screw ship. This model accurately reflects that and does indeed have four screws and four motors. There was an error in the vendor catalog that was replicated here. It should be fixed on here shortly.

Have you got any Motion RC promo codes? I think I may purchase it soon before they run out of stock. I have the 1/200th Titanic, and its so damn well done I could imagine how great the Arizona will look with some figures aboard...

What is the recommended amount of ballast for this in the RTR configuration? Previous Bancroft models have had it listed on product page but newer ones are missing this information.

Well, I received my model and while it is visually gorgeous, there are some serious shortcomings I have encountered.
            • Foremost among it is the interior access is extremely limited. Securing the battery away from the shafts and motors requires you to either push into the forward area and let is sit loose or back along the side of the hull along the prop shafts.
            • Maintaining the inner prop shafts is difficult due to the couplers being well back from the access hatch. This has had it damned near impossible for me to remove those two shafts for inspection and lubrication as one of the forward set screws (motor-coupler) came stripped already.
            • Speaking of lubrication, Bancroft did away with the stuffing tube top funnel that was standard on previous models so that is not an option for greasing the shafts either.
            • The old red grease was not used. Instead, a dark green version was utilized. However, the amount was insufficient for these shaft lengths. All shafts could be felt to have way too much resistance manually spinning them straight out of the box. The outer ones, which I have already redone, start spinning immediately but the two inner shafts only spin when throttle approaches 50%.
I now have to debate whether I will attempt to dismantle the mount for the inner motors so I can access the couplers or just disconnect both and leave them to be static.
