The RMS Queen Mary 2 is the world’s last true ocean liner, purpose-built for regular transatlantic service and engineered to standards far beyond those of conventional cruise ships. Entering service in 2004 for Cunard Line, she was designed specifically to withstand the harsh conditions of the North Atlantic, continuing a lineage of famous Cunard liners that dates back to the 19th century.
Measuring 1,132 feet (345 meters) in length with a gross tonnage of approximately 149,000, Queen Mary 2 was the largest passenger ship ever constructed at the time of her launch. Her hull features increased structural strength, a deeper draft, and a reinforced bow optimized for sustained high-speed operation in open ocean. Propulsion is provided by a combined diesel-electric and gas turbine (CODAG) system driving four azimuthing podded propulsors, delivering a service speed of around 26 knots.
Unlike modern cruise ships, Queen Mary 2 retains classic ocean liner proportions, including a longer hull form and a more vertical bow profile. Today, she remains the flagship of Cunard’s fleet and the only vessel still offering scheduled transatlantic crossings between Southampton and New York, preserving a historic mode of ocean travel through modern engineering.

Bancroft model boats are molded and hand finished using very intricate details and parts including metal, wood, plastic, and fiberglass. Because of their hand made nature, minor imperfections in the fiberglass, metalwork, or painting may exist. These potential imperfections will not affect the seaworthiness of the vessel or the overall scale boating experience. Bancroft scale RC boats are fragile so care should be taken when moving or transporting your model.
Some of the electronics in this Bancroft boat, including the Battery, ESC, Motor, and Receiver, are NOT intended to get wet; they are NOT water resistant. If any of these electronic components get wet and you attempt to operate your model, the water can cause an electrical short-circuit and void your warranty. In the rare instance that you get water inside your vessel, you should drain the water completely and allow all electronics to fully dry before attempting to operate your model.
