I was looking for a larger scale RC that would serve as a trail runner and light crawling, and the PC10 Pro had the advantage of having the most features for the money and MRC is in the next state over. The Defender body would not have been my first choice, but it's growing on me and there's enough generic bling that I can dress it up a bit and make it look not so hockey mom.
When I got it out of the box, the first impression was good, it is in fact a good looking truck to my eye, the only things I didn't like was that it did not come with a spare despite there being a carrier for one on the tailgate, compounded by the fact that MRC is out of stock on the tire/wheel combo, and there not being turn signals despite them being in the ad. Minor annoyances, I found a tire on Fleabay for now and I believe the receiver has a provision for turn signals, we'll have to see, not a big deal really.
My initial run resulted in a roll over on the grass, a combination of top heavy and too soft suspension, torque roll was silly. It got a lot better after adjusting the shocks for max preload, but they're still too soft for my taste, need to see about getting something stiffer but they won't keep me from running it as is. The top heaviness should get better with stiffer springs too. As it is, it just makes you a more careful driver over obstacles, but definitely not an all out rock crawler.
That being said, on the trail I used for a test run, the only roll overs were dealing with obstacles, desite a bumpy trail, the suspension worked well, the steering damper works very well, in low gear with both diffs unlocked this thing just scoots down the trail with ease without being all over the place, in high gear I can send it across my bumpy lawn in full control.
