Primus PC10 SR5m PC10 Pro D110 and FMS FCX10 K5 Blazer, all bone stock except the K5 which just got Injora diff plates

  • #2
Comparing your trucks (especially the FCX10 with a mod) to similar setups reviewed — helps assess how the Injora differential plate affects crawl efficiency or articulation.

They all have their strengths and weaknesses, I'd give overall build quality to the Primus models, but the Defender is somewhat top heavy, suspension is a bit too soft and suffers from torque roll significantly which limits the crawling end, and the SR5, the suspension is too stiff period.

The K5 is a love/hate thing at this point. It took quite a bit of fidgeting to get the radio setup right with the end points, enough that I'm not even going to try the RWD conversion and overall it just seems a cheaper build quality, plastic where the Primus models have metal etc, that being said, once everything was set up right, it's superior to the Defender in pretty much every way on the trails and crawling for as much as I've done.

The Injoras were a whim really, just thought they'd look cool on the truck, I'd guess I lost maybe 1/4" of ground clearance at the diffs, but the diffs weren't really banged up prior, in fact I'd say the plates have taken hits where the diffs probably wouldn't have, and they pretty much offer zero protection for the diff lock levers which would be my main concern.
