  • Roban B206 700 Size Conversion Kit Information

I thought a new topic would be appropriate for Roban’s B206 700 size conversion kits to pass along some information to those interested in the B206. Be advised that the PhoenixTech 600, Chaos 600, and Trex 600 mechanics not only fit this B206 but are actually desirable over the 700E to allow more forward space for the optional cockpit kit. The B206 kits do include the plywood adapter plate for the 600 mechanics and is a simple bolt in unit. This adapter correctly positions the 600 mechanics higher in the fuselage to correctly center the main shaft in the doghouse.
The builder will need to purchase a Trex 700E torque tube and torque shaft for the 600 mechanics. The good news is the 700E torque shaft is a drop in fit, but the builder will need to modify the 700E torque tube to attain proper positioning of the tail rotor housing in the tail boom. This required less than an hour to do with a tubing cutter and Dremel on mine, using PhoenixTech 600 mechanics. Chaos 600 should be the same, but Trex 600ESP may be different. Per the photo, the Align 700E tube has a more shallow positioning slot than the 600 tube so the 700 slot needs to be cut longer to match. For my PhoenixTech 600 mechanics, 29.4mm was required to be cut off the tail end of the 700E tube (not the slotted end!) to center the tail housing in the tail boom cutout. Again, I can’t say how much (if any) will need to be cut if using Trex 600 mechanics.
Hope this info is helpful to those, like me, who like the B206 but thought only 700 mechanics would fit.

Thank you for providing this info. I will attempt to build the same thing.
