Started the build on my CH-46 kit a little while ago, but today was the test hover day. Still have some kinks to work out.
the kit was made by Ken Luo. It’s a decent kit and straight forward build. Clocking the two heads wasn’t as hard as I thought it would have been.
The frame is well designed and made from CF. It comes with everything minus the servos, Flight controller and esc.

This build uses a Bavarian Demon 3SX flight controller. All my other helicopters use microbeast plus, so there has been learning curve with the Demon. I’m getting close though.

I did have a hover test today and I’m happy with the progress. I need to figure out the yaw setting though as it’s not sensitive enough for me. I guess back to reading and watching videos to figure this out.

The yaw setting may be difficult to change. Tandems unfortunately have rather weak yaw authority, and that is going to be worse with rigid heads. In theory, an articulated should be able to handle more flapping and give you more yaw control authority. Interesting results, and it’s looking great so far! I’ll probably start on mine after I get the Skycrane completed.

Changed out the heads with Tarot heads, seam a little better. Switched to plastic blades on the advice of F106deltadart.
I did a test hover tonight and I think it’s ready for its first flight.

While I’ve been working on mechanics and waiting for parts and blades, I spent some time on the fuselage.
it is now ready to start painting. Lots of primer filler and sanding to get to this point.

      She’s getting close.

Got some work done on the fuse today. Tomorrow hopefully I have successful flights. If so she’ll be in the fuse soon.

Felt good enough with the mechanics to finally add the Fuse on. Here is a quick hover test with it all put together.

Woohoo Gravy looks great, even though I have seen it in person without the fuselage mounted I can't wait to see it flying with the fuselage mounted now.

Thank you, yes she does fly pretty good, I’m still getting used to flying her. She does fly different than your standard helicopter.
