    Love the size and the paint! Any chance of this one being released in a PNP format (without the GPS system and controller) for those of us that prefer to use a traditional FBL controller?

        i just got mine a few days ago, im impressed, very nice, compared to the smaller ones i have been flying. I have over 10 years flying rc planes. I have a question? I put mine togother and went through all the steps. GPS initialized, and i lifted up, it started raising up on its own? it flew about 40ft up without me doing it and hovered over my maple tree, My heart was racing, i thought i was about to destroy it. No controls would work!, it held its postion nicely. i made the decision to hit the return to home at this point switch. It returned with no issues and i cut the engine off. i was very confused...... i disconnected the battery and went to power down the transmitter, i noticed that switch B was downward, ( i know it was supposed to be up) i think my finger accidently hit it, by this point it was getting to dark to try again, and i was still shaking!. What does switch B do on this TX? In the manual it says accesories? i now know to keep a eye on it. Will try again this weekend, but this time im going to the field with no trees around for hopefully a better experience. Any imput appreciated. Thanks

          Doing some detail work on a friends 470 UH-1D and thought I’d share it here. I ended up cutting the cabin doors off to mount them in the open position and designed a 3D printed interior section. Also designed a center section for the stabilizer bar and used 2mm steel rod and wheel collars to complete it. I then cut the skids down to achieve a more scale gear stance, and 3D printed some troops for the cabin. Still need to finish the paint work on the figures, but it’s getting there.

                  I did mine up as a "tribute' to LCol Kilgore's Surf Board-equipped Huey Slick from the movie "Apocalypse Now!". The key was the Apocalypse Now decal set that I acquired in 1:18 scale from an ebay vendor. I fabricated the Surf Boards from some sheet styrene that I had left over from another project, cutting the styrene to fit the custom Surf Board decals provided with the decal sheet. I made the vertical mounts for the 3D-printed M60 Machineguns out of some tubular plastic which I screwed through the repurposed Rocket-Pod fuselage mount. Finally, I added a few 3D-printed fuselage details robbed from a Flywing 450 UH-1A kit, to include the Tail Grab-Handles, the Pilot Tube, the large Antenna just forward of the Engine Cowling, etc.

                  All things considered, I am happy with how it turned out. After balancing the Rotor Blades with a few strips of black Electrical tape, the spool-up was smooth and vibration-free. I flew the maiden for 15 minutes earlier today wiithout incident. Everything works as advertised, now I just need to smooth out my rough flying edges!

                    Anybody have issues with the GPS not locking in? My heli is brand new and I have not even flown it yet, Tried to give it its first flight but the LED would do the double blue flash forever. Tried it in a different location and same result. Double checked all the switches on the TX and all were in the correct position. Even waited for 20 minutes and was still flashing blue I have the RotorScale 470 MD500 and the Bell 206 and fly those and never had an issue. GPS would lock on in about a minute or so. Powered up my other helis in the same spot as the Huey and they acquired GPS in about a minute. I have no clue as to what is going on. I did send an email to Motion but may have to wait a few days for a response. Any ideas? Would love to get this thing up in the air. Thanks

                        Oops. Sorry. My mistake. Meant a Bell 206.
                        UPDATE: Took it to our club field this morning. Turned everything on and let it sit while I got my gas plane bolted together. Went and checked it and the light was flashing green. Yay!. Ended up doing 2 flights. The only thing I did was to check all the wires last night to be sure they were in the correct positions and seated properly. When I got home tried it in my backyard again and it got the green GPS light after about 2 minutes. May have had a loose wire somewhere. Anyway it's working now. I'm Happy!

                              Hey guys. Had a problem with my Huey today. Wondering if anyone has had a similar issue. I have about 10 flights on it so far. Today when I tried to fly it I could not get it in the air. What happens is after the normal boot up procedure and getting the GPS green light I armed it and flipped the switch to run. The tail rotor starts up but nothing from the main rotor. I tried spinning the main rotor by hand and eventually got it to rotate but it did not come up to full speed and would suddenly stop after a little bit. Tried unplugging the battery and turning the TX off and on then plugging in the battery to restart everything a couple times but ended up with the same thing happening. Tried it without the blades attached to watch the motor and it does not come on unless I give it a kick start by hand. So I know its not the belt. Any advice as to what could be the issue. Bad motor or ESC? Never crashed it or even a hard landing. Just flew it a couple of days ago and had no issues. Thanks for any info.

                                Does the motor run at all when you throttle up? Have you checked all the wiring connectors for the motor and ESC? Have you checked the belt closely to make sure there aren't a bunch of teeth missing? Is the belt tight? The tensioner may have loosened. Push on the tensioner to see if it makes the belt move?

                                  The motor does not come on at all unless I twist it by hand. And sometimes it takes several attempts Then it spins slowly picking up speed. Does not get to full speed. and will stop abruptly. I tried spinning the main rotor without it powered on and I can see the gear on the motor spin. Belt looks good and tight. Checked the wiring and don't see anything bad or loose. Thinking the motor may be bad.

                                    I think I found the problem A wire came out of the connector from the motor where it plugs into the ESC. Now I need to figure out a way to solder it back in place. Not sure how that can be done. Another option is to buy another motor but that's like $80.00.. Click image for larger version

                                      There you go. "Wiring connectors". I would just strip that connector down and solder that wire back in properly. You might be able to pull that black part down the wires to get at the solder point. If not, cut it off (Dremel) and then tape it carefully and I think it's good to go.

                                        I did pull that black piece back and I kind of McGivered it for now just to test it. Main rotor spun and came up to full speed. So that was it. The way the wires are secured is putting a lot of strain on it. I'm going to order some new connectors and relieve some of the stress. Reroute or extend the wires if necessary. Think that's why that one pulled out. May happen to the others eventually too. Guess I'm lucky it didn't happen 25 feet up in the air! Would have been interesting!
