Let me start of and say I've been in the hobby and have been building all kinds of RC model aircraft, turbine Jets, balsa kits, custom kits from plans, 3D helicopters, Scale Helicopters scale airplanes and many other types of RC related builds. With that said.
A customer of mine purchased a Roban UH-1D 800
Right at a month ago. I started building it March 15th.
I did as I normally do with all Roban kits I've built which was finish assembling the rest of the mechanics that were mostly pre-built. I then installed all electronics and built custom test landing skids to where they and the mechanics would be at flying weight. The mechanics flew great after tuning in the correct pitch percentages. So I started assembling the rest of the fuselage, windows, lights, cockpit furniture ect. Then I started installing the mechanics in to the fuselage so I could get the outer fiberglass tail section aligned with the fuselage so I could drill my 6 hole and install the blind nuts on the fuselage for Mounting the fiberglass tail section. !!!!!THIS POINT IS WHERE TROUBLES BEGAN!!!!!
The torque tube is way off alignment, so far that it is touching the fuselage. So obviously when I slide the fiberglass tail section on, it isn't even close to lining up with the fuselage. !!!!BIG PROBLEM!!!!.
The boxed In structure that the mechanics get fastened down to are way too high causing the Torq tube to hit the fuselage where it exits the back of the fuselage. I've been in contact with the retailer where this kit was built and also been in contact with the manufacturer. Both so far have not came up with a solution to the problem. The retailer asks for pictures so I send some pics. Then they ask for more pictures and after installing and removing the mechanics many times and sending them pics they just keep asking for more pics. I've sent adequate pictures every time. After their last request for more pictures me and the customer are done trying to get a resolution to the problem. I am going to fix it myself so that my customer doesn't have to wait for a solution or me continuously having to send pics to try and get him parts that are in specs.
I'm sure after an unknown amount of emails and pics the retailer would possibly send us the replacement parts but we don't have time to wait so maybe that's our fault.
