Hi All!
So glad to be home from what turned out to be an absolute disaster.
We were going to my mom's 90th birthday in Vancouver BC. We flew Alaskan to Seattle where our flight to Vancouver was cancelled. They rebooked us on a second flight for that evening, which was cancelled as well. As it was a quick trip, and Mom's b day was the following day, we asked to be rebooked to a flight back to Billings Montana, where we started from. They told us the next available flight was Sunday night, so we overnighted in the terminal as they didn't offer us a hotel room. Sunday nights flight was cancelled as well! We're thinking "Thank God we have our original flight back home on Monday at noon.
Oh no, they were cancelled as we had rebooked for Sunday night. So now we have no way home!!! The only thing we could do was to book a flight from Seattle to Helena Montana and drive 5+ hours to Billings. Just to add to the misery, I got 'airport flu' and started throwing up at the hotel that they (Alaska Airlines) were generous enough to give us on the second night (sarcastic) and was feeling like death warmed over on that flight. We were lucky enough to meet a couple who were in the same situation and we split the bill for the rental and they drove. Got to Billings and got the truck out for paid parking and headed for home, which we finally made at 1:00 AM.
Alaska will not give us cent one for the $796.40 for the flight to Helena for two, even though this whole mess is their fault. They say they sell the flights to Expedia and have not control over that.
Frigging ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!
Think it doesn't get worse??
We got a call from the folks we drove with. Their flight out of Billings suffered some mechanical failure and was cancelled......They had to fly back to Seattle today to route down to Denver and home to Texas.
God I hope they made it!!!
