Ah, barbecue. I'm a huge barbecue guy. I've been to nearly every state in the country, and in each one I've visited I've always sought out the best local barbecue. We're a nationwide (and international) community. Please post the best BBQ in your town, city, or state. Next time I'm there I may add it to my list to visit.

Florida: Sonny's BBQ --a chain restaurant throughout Florida, Georgia, and I think South Carolina, too. Mad Jack's is tasty if you're further south.

Arkansas: Chip's BBQ and/or White Pig. Both are smaller locations in Little Rock. There are many of these smaller family run type of places throughout the state. Whole Hog is a chain but they're consistent in all the locations I've been to across two states.

Maryland: Smokeshack in Alexandria. Pork ribs are to die for!

      Mmmmm...BBQ...

We've got some great BBQ up here in the Pacific Northwest Alpha...You should stop in to one of these places when you come up to hang out with me for some flying.

Love me some Sonny's. If ever in Westfield Indiana just North of Indy try "Big Hoffas BBQ" http://bbqindianapolis.com/ I started going to his stand when he was set up in a parking lot and watched him grow!! Here in Bluffton https://www.jimnnicks.com/menus/bluffton/bar-b-q/

I grew up in North Florida. Sonny's was a regular dining spot. The BBQ baked beans are TO DIE FOR! But when I lived way down in Naples on the southwest gulf coast, there was this joint called Michelbob's. Very awesome BBQ.

Recently I was in South Carolina over Christmas Vacation. We were in Hilton Head, and we had other friends visiting North Carolina from California. We decided to meet up about half way from our locations, and we wound up in this little town called Manning, SC and had dinner at a place called JK's House of BBQ. OMG! That was some awesome BBQ! Everything they served, right down to the peach cobbler for dessert, was homemade from scratch. Words cannot describe.

My grandparents used to live in Fort Pierce. Every summer we would visit would begin and end with a trip to Sonny's.

Here in Augusta we have a place called Sconyers. If you arent there by 11am, you arent getting any food, lol.

Grew up on Shiver's BBQ in Homestead, FL. Real southern Q and they've been in business since 1950.

I now enjoy tasty BBQ at the Red House in Tehachapi and all the fixins are off the chain. :)

Ok, now stop!!! You guys are really making me hungry!!
So, if you ever make your way up to Cody, we have Buffalo Bill's hotel in the Rockies, The Irma. Complete with the bar presented to him by Queen Victoria, just incredible, all cherrywood.
Anyway, they make ribs that just fall off the bone, the ultimate for me at least, they're like, well, I order a full rack just so I can have more the next day!!!!!
BBQ'ed ribs and R/C just seem to go together don't they???

Ah yeah...good ol' Sonny's BBQ! Visited there in Florida City, Fl on the gateway to the Keys. It was so good we had to stop there again on the way out.

However, when in Ft. Lauderdale you "must" stop,in to eat at Tom Jenkins bbq on Highway 1.

But when here in the Dallas Metroplex, it gets tough because this is bbq haven. I would say, "Spring Creek bbq", Pappa's bbq, and Soulman's bbq".

Coopers, in Llano, Texas. Absolutely the best I've ever had! There is a BBQ joint on every corner in Austin, Texas, and every one good. Doc

Whoa! How could I have forgotten about Coopers in Llano? Have eaten there many times. Lucky for me there's now one in Ft. Worth, and only about 25 mins from me.

Thanks for the reminder Dr. Mike...it's time to make a bbq run to Coopers!

Coopers is 12 hours away from me.:( I just noticed... you're in Irving. I grew up in Denton. Moved to Santa Fe in '81 to be in the mountains and to get out of that heat and humidity. However, no one knows what real BBQ is here. But...those chicken enchiladas!!! I'm hungry! Doc

Boy!!! With spring here I've really been eyeing those briskets in the store! I think it's time to fire up the old New Braunsfels. I have a book that anyone interested in smoking should have..."Franklin Barbeque" by Aaron Franklin and Jordan Mackay. Everything you could ever want to know about barbeque, and more! Buy it!!! Doc
