  • Favorite Car of All Time

We all have a favorite car. It can be a classic, or exotic. Or both!

For classic, I have to go with the 1967/1968 Camaro RS/SS with hideaway headlights.

For exotic, it's always been Lamborghini...From Countach when I was a little kid to the Aventador and beyond today!

I had the chance to buy a 1964 E-Type Jag 3.8, in 1969. It wanted a clutch, but I didn't want to fit it. I've done that job several times and I know whats involved. Anyway the price of the said car was 70.00 pound sterling, or about $150.00. I often wonder what happened to it. I wish I had the chance to buy it for that price now !

My favorite car I guess has to be the Ferrari 250 GTO (1963). New car, the Tesla Model S is quite ride. I've been in one and I can say its quite lively. A gas car, the Bentley Super Sport.

    Martin.

My all-time favorite car is the 1988-1991 Honda CRX Si (hence the name "crx" man Pat ;)). I purchased a brand new 1988 Black Si back when I was stationed in Germany. Drove up to the port town of Bremerhaven from where I was stationed in Weisbaden and took delivery of it directly from the ship on 12/17/87. I'm pretty sure I was the first person to have a USDM CRX Si in Europe. Had that car for 4 years before trading it in for a Toyota Paseo (worst decision I ever made).

As the years went by I told myself if I ever found myself with extra cash, I'd try to find another CRX. So when I sold a home in 2005 (when the house market was very high) and had some extra scratch, I went looking. It took 3 months of checking out beat up riced out cars, but my search finally paid off. In August 2005 I was looking at the website of a local Honda dealer, and they listed a Barbados Yellow 1990 Si with 99K miles. I thought to myself "that can't be right" as that car was 15 years old at the time. So down I went to the dealership. When I got there, it was still on the back lot and had not even been processed through the detail shop. I bought it on the spot. Turns out it was purchased by a 65-yo gent, kept in the garage, driven rarely. After detailing, the damn thing looked like it had just come off the showroom floor!

I had that car for 7 years before finally selling it to another CRX enthusiast. Here's some of my better shots of it.

My brother had a 1970 Cobra Jet Torino Daytona it came with a 429cid,4speed manual the color was grabber blue with a flat black hood and an opperating hood scoop. I believe there were 5000 made he sold it several years later and always regretted it. About 10 years after he sold it we found the car but it had been totaled beyond repair. 😔

My favorites were my first 57 Chevy, 65 Pontiac GTO 4 speed Tri Power, and a 71 Buick GS 455. Had them all.

My favorite car was my 1979 Pontiac Trans Am, just like the one on Smokey and the Bandit. I saw that movie with my best friend and immediately knew that was what I wanted. Problem was so did every other guy in the country. I had to order it special, but when it finally came I was blown away. I had it one year, got married, and had to sell it!!!!!! I was broken hearted. I actually traded it in for two Toyotas, a pickup for me, and a Corolla for my new bride.....Wow, what a letdown driving that little truck. Now that I'm 60, I would get another one in a minute if I could afford it and had a garage to put it in so I could relive my youth.

I think you are reliving your youth now!!! Every time I come home from a day at the flying strip, I've got this stupid ****e eatin grin on my face like a young boy who discovered model planes for the first time and I can't imagine that you don't experience the same exhilaration.

"Favorite" car can be almost anything, especially when you can't buy them and own them. Like "pin up" girls, it's easy to have as many favorites as you like. I'll restrict mine to what I've owned. My username gives you a hint of what that might be. I've had many cars that I've really liked. Not all of them were "good" cars but I still liked them for their uniqueness and excitement they brought to my life.

You and me both. I come from a Ford family. We had a mint condition 1966 Mustang convertible. I had 3 1967 Mustangs, two with the AT 289. Think about how many times I kick myself these days for not holding on to at least one. Ugh!

One of them even had the true candy apple red paint job that my father painted for me...Looked like this (but wasn't a fastback)...

Wow, too many cars to have an absolute favorite, but the one I would like to own the most would be my Dad's 1965 Buick Riviera GS. He special ordered it from the factory and it had a plaque on the console showing it was specially built with his name on it. I hated it when he sold that car, but he didn't want me to have it when I turned 16. I loved everything about that car, and have looked for it for years, but the last trace I found of it was when a doctor in Atlanta owned it. Lost track of it from there.

My favorite drive was my '84 Nissan 300ZX. I sold it a couple years ago since I put less than 500mi/yr on it & I needed a larger ride to haul all my RC planes/equip.. Next is my '90 GMC Sierra Z71 that I still have & love that truck. Those were made with a full fiberglass bed & getting quite scarce nowadays.

Just an Airaid cold air box, so I can hear the supercharger whine. I may do pulleys and a tune one day, but it's so ridiculously fast now, more mods are a ways down on my priority list. There's a pretty good CTS-V subform here http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...cts-v-general/ Poke around for performance, appearance, etc. sub-sub forums. I have the same screen name there, as here...
