No disrespect was taken at all. After logging 1000+ hours in the 101, I was still impressed with it when I walked away. The book I suggested has several accounts of mission profiles which you might enjoy. The book concentrates on the role of the RF101 in VIETNAM, but has a section on the B model as well.

I'm a fan of the 101. We had three of them that were "penguins" (didn't fly) at Sheppard AFB used for training us Crew Chief's. I spent one day doing the BPO cards on one. Never got to see one fly. That would be a sweet RC jet.

Good ole Sheppard AFB. Couldn't wait to get out of there. 10 weeks there is 10 weeks to long. I couldn't imagine being there for over a year like some AFSC's. I was the last engine class to train on the 141 engine. We moved in the A-10 engine our last week there, but never got to work on them. And boy does it get cold there in December.
