This is directed at forum participants who also happen to be avid MotionRC fans. Many, if not most of us are in this category. I, for one, am a big fan. However, I wish to distinguish between "fans, supporters and enthusiasts" and "fanboys". Fanboys are the type of rabid supporter who can never see any fault in the company and they take it personally when anyone comes along who says anything that could be construed as a negative comment about the company. It can even be just a legitimate question about stock status or availability. Fanboys will take that as a slight upon the company that created the forum. These are usually the same people who have thousands and thousands of post on that forum and consider themselves "gods" of the bulletin board in question and they reign supreme.
I just had such an experience in the HobbyKing forum. Never again will I venture there. They are filled with fanboys who defend HobbyKing to the point of casting a negative light upon the company and pushing customers away. I see this sort of thing over in the "other" forum as well. People who have absolutely nothing to do with MotionRC, come to their defense in such a way as to be abusive and offensive. This does not shine a good light upon the company. On the most part, Motion staff tend to act with decorum in such circumstances and use a tremendous amount of diplomacy. That's good to see. No matter how good a company is, there will always be someone who is disgruntled. How they are treated on a public forum reflects to some degree upon the company. Don't be too quick to judge them as "trolls" or sh!t disturbers. No matter how unsatisfied they are now, they are still future potential customers. Don't be bad "ambassadors" for MotionRC if you truly are a fan and want to support them. Be a "fan" but don't be a "fanboy". Let's support MotionRC in a dignified way, in a diplomatic way, even in the face of abject discontent.
OK, rant over.
