Hi everyone,
New member from Oakland, CA, 1st post...I recently rediscovered my childhood love of R/C due to YouTube/Instagram videos (I think their algorithms learned I really liked videos with mining/construction equipment, and high-end R/C vehicles made in Germany/China 😆). Recently I have been researching Construction equipment and Crawlers and I just bought my 1st Crawler (Traxxas TRX-4 High Trail '79 Ford F-150) .
I have starting chatting on some forums, but I would love to find some people local that are into R/C, Crawlers or Construction specifically. Unfortunately, there are NO R/C hobby stores in Western Alameda County to meet other hobbyists; closest stores are in Livermore/Antioch/Benicia/San Jose...45+ min away. I'm not interested in the toy side of R/C vehicles, but more of the serious hobbyist end of the spectrum. I’m especially interested in:
• R/C Construction Equipment (excavators, loaders, etc...particularly hydraulic mechanics)
• R/C Rock Crawlers (more trail/off-road, not racing...would be interested in modding or building from a kit)
• R/C Helicopters (ones that look like historical aircraft)
Right now I’m just learning and figuring things out, so it’d be great to connect with others who share the interest—whether you’ve been doing it for years or are just getting started like me. Would be fun to swap ideas, learn from each other, and maybe even get a small group together at some point. If this sounds like your thing, feel free to reply or shoot me a message!
Thanks,
NeoSquonk
