I just read that, after the war, Black Sheep Squadron traded their Corsairs in for F9F Panthers, the, so I understand, first truly practical fighter jet. My uncle flew a panther. However, as I remember, it was the later swept wing version. He gave us a thrill by flying over our house, once, when I was a kid. Doc
