i have the detrum controller and it will not allow me to control surfaces appropriately. My best guess is that it will require spektrum or similar controller to work. My loss your gain. No shipping as it is already together. Never flown.

Those should be flyable on a 4 ch.... No computer mix of any sort needed. Worst case is you bought bind-n-fly with the wrong RX and just need to swap out the RX.

If controls move, its just a matter of finding the correct channel order and control reverse settings.
Very simple to correct.

But if you are confused at that level... you may not be ready for that level of aircraft. Its definitely not a beginner's model.
