    Spektrum Radios and SD cards

    I just ordered a DX8 and I know this radio and a few others by Spektrum have SD card slots . I read thru the online manual for the info but if doesn't say anywhere that I found about the size requirements . Is it a Micro , full size and what GB does it need ??

          You don't need much, a 2GB would be more than you'll ever need.

              I have a new DX8 G2 ... when I insert my SD Card containing new firmware spmtx.sax it does not install the firmware automatically as I expected. When I attempt to import model ... the DX8 select files screen shows

              <BACK>
              <BACK>

              Apparently not seeing any files. It does know that the card is installed ... status is READY. Same card (SanDisk 64GB) on the computer shows two files in root ...

              Any ideas?

                Make sure your SD card is formatted to "fat32" :Cool:

                  Thank you for waking me up. Of course I should have known this. Unfortunately, Windows will not format anything bigger than 32G as FAT32. The default for SD Card is called exFAT. There are special tools that will do the job, but it is cheaper to just get another smaller SD Card. You don't need much as TiredIron pointed out earlier.

                  Again, thank your. Hope this is helpful to others.

                    Horizon recommends no more than 16g and C6 or less.
