  • Cases!

While I'm down on repairs to the FW190 spent some gift cards at amazon on some things RC related. We use pelican cases for everything at work and figured it would make a great R/C case. I'm sure I'm not the first to do so but figured I'd share it anyways. Also curious to see if anyone else has a similar set up to get this type of gear to the field!

I measured up before I ordered and think in the future I may get the next size up but this does the trick quite nicely (its a Pelican 1500 case). It can currently hold three batteries and there is enough room to make another space to hold another 3, so for 6 that wouldn't be a bad start. Towards the top I've got my charger and spare batteries for the transmitter.

Nice SOB, did you get it precut like that or did you do that yourself?

      RE: Cases!

Did it myself, they sell the cases with or without what they call "camera foam" in which the whole case spare the 2" on the border is perforated into little cubes of foam that can be removed individually to custom fit around whatever it is being stored. Really like how it has worked out so far, I use pelican products on a daily basis at work and would recommend them to anyone, tough as nails.

Here's an updated pic of my layout so far (and the cover after I hand painted a little flare!)

That is a great looking case! Your paintjob and decals really set it apart. The "Pluck Foam" is very convenient for making custom fit shapes.

Nice cases. Good for protection of apparatus.
