  • A3 and Spektrum

I just put my A3 in my Mach 2. When I turn the plane on the gyro comes on, everything works but the receiver and satellite starts to blink. All servos operate just fine. Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
I have not seen any post on this condition.
    Thank you

Does it pass a range check, all channels working properly and the gyro correcting yaw, pitch and roll correctly?

Yes it passed range test. I got out to the club yesterday to try it, this time when I turned the plane on it did not flash. It flew nice. The auto recover work real slow. Do I need to turn up the grain?
      Thank you for your reply
      Anything else should I check?

I haven't been able to make the auto level work satisfactorily yet. Like your plane, mine doesn't correct very well, though it looks to work on the bench and during preflight checks. When I adjusted the gains on the gyro (pot 2 for leveling) I found it didn't help make the plane respond quicker. I'm stumped on this one frankly. Increasing the gains did cause the distance that control surfaces moved to increase with normal stick movement. To be clear though, I fly Frsky on a Taranis and not Spektrum.

I am just wondering if you can adjust the gain enough to get work right. I can not get to try it again till next weekend. The weather has been so bad around hear. High wind rain all of it. I have a 1.20 size Cap 232 I want to put it in. The cap is a little hard for to fly and land. I am hoping this well help.
Maybe someone else might reply and give us ideas.

I have the A3 in a fms edf and its works, but the oscillation is insane. When you switch modes in flight there is a massive delay as well. Ive noticed when im too close or around metal (car) with A3 and spektrum Ar610 it will not bind, auto leveling is nothing like As3x safe mode but it works. The lower the gains the worse it is, i crashed one of my edf f15 yesterday. The lower the gains on gyro would not allow the servos to react fast enough to correct plane axis, to high and it oscillates. Make sure your way up to try em to recover. Im starting to think D/R and Expo all you need

I see Spektrum is coming with a 7 Chanel receiver with gyro built in. But $150 is a little bit much. They have a AR6210 with gyro for $99. I well have to wait and see what I can do with the A3. I don't want anybody to lose a plane. My cap is very special to me It took a very long time to get one . I'am sure everybody has a special one. I know I would be just sick if I lose it. Well enough of my rambleming on.

Turning the Gain up on Auto Recover will dictate how much control you have, the more gain the more the plane will resist your inputs. One customer who does FPV uses a high Gain for Auto Recover so the Plane will fly straight and level but resist any inputs, once he is done FPVing he turns it off. When activated there is a brief second where the Gyro takes to react. As far as the issue of the flashing receiver one would simply just unplug the battery and then reconnect. In normal stabilization if your plane oscillates then the Gain is too high and needs to be turned down, much the same as a Heli if the tail wags turn the Gyro down. Hope this helps clear up any confusion.
                Best Regards,
                Wayne
